Northeastern Traditional Direct Entry

Published

Good Afternoon,

I wanted to see if others have heard anything from Northeastern University (MA) regarding traditional direct entry program that starts September 2014. Has anyone heard about an interview? Just wanted to get a conversation going!

Look forward to hearing from others!

Hi! Does anything on the online application portal change once they made the decision or did everyone who was accepted find out from a letter or call? I'm still waiting for the decision and Northeastern is my number one.

What is your specialty?

And they called, posted the letter on the application portal, and have sent a letter to my home. But it could depend on your specialty on how things work. Also i believe some faculty are out of the country for a trip, so that could cause a delay for some folks!

Thanks dhart17! My specialty is psych/mental health. I had the interview last week but it seems like those who were accepted heard back so soon. The more I think about it, I only want to go to Northeastern so I hope I hear some good news :)

Was your letter posted under a specific section on the application portal?

the letters are under a link at the bottom of the application.

I received an email saying it was ready.

Yes I received an email saying it was posted under the application portal but they called first. I expect you'll hear soon! They never gave me a time frame but I heard about a week later. If you got an interview they probably think you're a strong candidate so hopefully it'll be fine! They wait is awful though.

Are any of the other accepted students in Boston now? It would be great to get together ahead of time just to meet!

I live about 40 minutes from boston, an easy drive or train ride into the city

Thanks dhart17 for the hope!

anyone here trying to decide between NEU and BC?

Anyone applying to an FNP program trying to choose between NEU and MGH? If so, what made you choose one over the other? Aside from the cohort size they seem very comparable. I just checked cost and it looks like NEU is about $15,000 more than MGH (since FNP requires 54 credits instead of 43 for the masters portion).

Does anyone know about federal loans? I had thought that because northeastern gives a BSN you have to apply for undergraduate loans which has a lifetime limit. Anyone have more information about this?

Specializes in OR, Outpatient.

I believe that NU considers you a graduate student from day 1 of the entire program, so you'll apply for the FAFSA as a graduate student. I would double-check with the financial aid office to be sure.

I finally got my call back yesterday. Accepted into FNP :) Such a relief! Still sending out good vibes for those who are still waiting to hear.
