Northeastern Traditional Direct Entry

Published

Good Afternoon,

I wanted to see if others have heard anything from Northeastern University (MA) regarding traditional direct entry program that starts September 2014. Has anyone heard about an interview? Just wanted to get a conversation going!

Look forward to hearing from others!

I live about 45 minutes outside of boston, so still trying to figure out if it will be better to get an apartment near the school or commute from home at least for the first couple semesters

I had my interview for peds on the 12th but haven't heard anything about a decision yet. Im so impatient!

Had an interview earlier today for the Psych Specialty. I think it went really well. They said they would get back to me in less than two weeks. Waiting definitely sucks. I've got three years of psych experience in a healthcare setting. Plus almost two years inpatient setting so I'm hoping that will help. Is the rent in Boston high? or is best to live in student housing over there?

I am not sure if there is student housing for graduate students at Northeastern. Rent in Boston is high, but if you find a house with roommates you should be okay.

There is graduate housing but it's done by lottery. It looks like it will cost the same to live in your own apartment or in graduate housing. Plus with graduate housing that's only the academic year and since we attend classes in the summer it may be worth it to check out off campus housing that you can lease for a year

For sure. We have pretty high rent in Seattle so im sure ill be used to the prices. I was pretty shocked at how relaxed the interview was. It felt like they already made their decision before the interview started. Its like they wanted to make sure I was up for the program still. Did anyone else feel that way before their interview?

I received an acceptance call early this morning! So they are still coming. The next two weeks will be very difficult as I select the offer that fits best, but good luck to each of you!

Alright....anyone else interview in the last two weeks and not get an acceptance notification yet? :( Starting to worry over here....

anyone know when we will get information about financial aid?

I called the financial aid office, and they said to submit the 2014-2015 FAFSA and then it will take them a few weeks to process and then they will be in touch. I was hoping to go in to meet with them this week or next, but it sounds like it makes more sense to wait on them processing the FAFSA. Hope that helps a little.

@skigirl470 thank you!! do you know if NEU offers any merit based scholarships or grants or will our packages be all loans?

I was wondering the same thing! I am not sure. I called the office yesterday and they were super nice.

I would just give them a call.
