Northeastern Traditional Direct Entry

Published

Good Afternoon,

I wanted to see if others have heard anything from Northeastern University (MA) regarding traditional direct entry program that starts September 2014. Has anyone heard about an interview? Just wanted to get a conversation going!

Look forward to hearing from others!

Just had psych interview... It was more of a conversation! If you have a lot of knowledge and experience working with the psychiatric population, you don't have anything to worry about. The lady just wanted to make sure that I was prepared and knew what I was getting myself into. Best of luck!

Thank you cttruong and skigirl470 for your updates!! Good luck!

Got a call Monday for psych interview too! Thanks cttruong, your info really calmed me down!

I found out today I was accepted to the Acute Care track! I left work today and there was a voicemail on my phone telling me I'd gotten in. I interviewed last week, it seems like they move pretty quickly. The message also said I had three weeks to decide and that I would get a letter in the mail. So I guess the admissions are rolling, in a pretty serious way, if they're sending out acceptances and interview requests at the same time and asking people to decide within 3 weeks.

Ah! Pineapplelost! I'm so excited for you!!!!

Has anyone had their interview for Peds yet? How did it go?

Hi everyone! just joined this site today, I got a call a few days ago that I was accepted to the pediatric specialty! I found out about a week after my interview

Congrats! Was your interview more like a conversation? Is NU your first choice?

My interview was very much like a conversation once we got rolling. I had a wonderful time seeing campus and observing other students on campus and seeing Boston. I'm hoping for a positive answer soon!

definitely nothing to freak out about, I really liked the campus too (from the small part I saw, it was 0 degrees outside). I also really like the fact that the peds program allows you to choose acute or primary care, or you can get dual certified in both...I'll be headed there in the fall, hope to see you there!

Have others heard about acceptances for Peds?

Does anyone have specific information about tuition for the DE program? I'm like 99% sure I'm going to choose Northeastern over MGH, but just want to have a better idea of what I'm getting myself into, debt-wise. I know the "undergrad" portion is flat-fee, but I'm confused over the Master's portion.

Also, has anyone filled out their FAFSA? I know in the Northeastern literature they emphasize you're an undergrad for the first portion, as well as during the time you're out on placement -- but is that what we choose for the FAFSA? I know other programs (e.g., MGH) say you're considered a graduate student the whole time. Both programs award BSNs, so it's confusing.
