Northeastern Traditional Direct Entry

Published

Good Afternoon,

I wanted to see if others have heard anything from Northeastern University (MA) regarding traditional direct entry program that starts September 2014. Has anyone heard about an interview? Just wanted to get a conversation going!

Look forward to hearing from others!

@bostonhopefulnurse How was your interview? I hope it went well!

Has anyone else not heard anything from them since they applied? ):

I interview later this week. I really feel NEU has an excellent program that fits my goals and learning style, so I'm very excited! Good luck to each of you!

@dhart17 what concentration did you apply to?

Has anyone heard anything regarding peds?

I haven't heard anything either, lddt19. I applied to psych.

I applied for adult acute care! It will be my first trip to Boston as well, so I'm looking forward to finally viewing the campus and interacting firsthand with the faculty.

@faith2014 I'm going to my interview this Thursday. I hope they don't cancel due to the "wintry mix" that's in the forecast. I just want to get this done ;)

Hi everyone!

Sorry for jumping into this convo so late, and sorry this is a little long... but I also applied to the Direct Entry Nursing program (on-campus, pediatric) for fall 2014, but received an email today stating that the on-campus program for fall is full. They said "

At this time, the Direct Entry – On Campus program has reached capacity for enrollment.

Because you are a competitive candidate, we would like to consider you for the Direct Entry - Hybrid option." It goes on to explain how it is partially online but there are labs, clinicals, all the same, etc...I've done the research so I mostly know how it works, but then the email states "One of our experienced advisors will be calling you to discuss further."

I am unsure if this is their way of suggesting that I consider the hybrid option or if it is their way of basically saying I'm kind of accepted? Has this happened to anyone else? I received the email late this afternoon so I would assume maybe they'll call me tomorrow so I should just wait for a phone call?

If anyone has any suggestions for me or thoughts on the hybrid program let me know? While hybrid wasn't my first choice, it seems like it's still a great option...assuming this means I have a shot of getting in/was accepted. I'm also from Florida so I really any advice would be extra wonderful :) And congratulations to you all who got interviews!! And don't stress that the email I got means they've already made decisions - I'm sure it just means they've finished selecting people for interviews, whether or not they've informed everyone yet, i don't actually know. But any help for my situation would be greatly appreciated!

Bostonhopefulnurse: I don't think your interview will be cancelled, unless it's a snow storm. I'm sure you will do great and keep calm!! Congrats!!

Skigirl470: I also applied to peds, but haven't heard a peep. Let me know when they get in touch with you.

Shmali: It sounds to me that someone will be in touch with you - not necessarily today - to talk about the program and probably interview you.

It's interesting that they said the program is already full, but not a whole bunch of people were notified of anything! I know no one who applied to peds and got a phone call!

Hey everyone! I have a phone interview today for psychiatric/mental health track. They called me yesterday, the 10th to schedule for today!

I just received an email to schedule a phone interview for tomorrow.
