Good luck to everyone!
Jaxia- I am so glad to hear that it is nothing to worry about. Maybe this is the beginning of a whole month of good newsAmy- if you like the heart, you will enjoy 4th semester when it's all cardiac! It might be 3rd semester...I'm not sure which but one of them will be cardiac!
With all the cardio meds we've just learned, you'd think they would be teaching cardio now, not neuro. haha
(Yes, I know, we only had to learn 22 drugs so far.)
AMYINDALLAS....have you called UPS/USPS...whoever, and ask about it? That does sound strange!!
Yes, I called Fed Ex today. I thought it was delivered to my home...the Fed Ex rep gave me the address where it was dropped off. I knew the street so I drove there and the address DOES NOT EXIST. Fed Ex said 1805...the houses go 1803 to 1809...1805 does not exist. So now I have to wait until Monday and call them again so maybe I can find out what the heck happened to my package.
hi,
i had check off for Ng tube feeding thursday, made a hundred ( our schedule is a little diff. then yours, since i am in the pilot). I think you all practiced it already though, watch out for residual. MIne did not stop after first syringe , i had to keep going. Some students missed that, then according to doc orders you have to call him and discard or put back in :wink2:. Anyways my test is tomorrow, I am not sure how to really study for these test, because all these case scenarios and it makes me so nervous. Oh well , wish me luck,
Petra
I am confused on how the grading is on the 1119 check-offs. On the 1460 check-offs, you had to pass w/i 3 times, or you're out.
Is it different with the 1119 check-offs? It just shows U or S, not points to add up for a grade.
BTW, congrats and good luck on your test. NLC's test day is this Wednesday. Good luck to those taking their test on Friday as well.

Is that clinical? Midterm is just a verbal "grading". What/how you should improve in clinicals. Final has the same "78 points or you are out" policy. I think.![]()

No....I'm talking about the NGT, Foley & "?" check-off...can't remember the last one.
It seems like I remember U or S, not numbers like with the meds, VS & assessment check-offs.
Hey all.....just thought I would let everyone know I passed my med check off. But I am slightly upset about something I got counted off for. If anyone can enlighten me.....I had three drugs...Carafate, Nitro Patch, and Lasix. Can anyone tell me which of those drugs I would need an apical pulse for? Nitro says BP and pulse.....she counted off because I only took the radial pulse. Also, just an FYI.....4 people in my class failed and have to redo.
I am having perceived stress right about now. My husband had surgery this morning and was not even out before I had to leave for the seminar. These next two weeks are going to be very trying for all of us with the test and starting clinicals....but....we can do it....right?

What was the Dx? Maybe the Dx called for AP X 1 full minute?
Also, if there is an double dose of heart-related meds, it's best to take AP X 1 min. (If I understood correctly.)
We discussed among our clinical group, if you take AP and BP, you'll do ok.....resp is needed on some.
I took AP, BP, & Resp.
