Jaxia,

YAHH! 2 less days to wait for our results! I wonder why they are doing it different...did you happen to know what the occassion is?

Amy

Honestly, I think it is just because the 15th is on a Sunday, and so they picked the Friday near it. Yay for the calendar being on our side ;):monkeydance:

Jaxia,

Regarding what you said about UTA and TWU. I do plan on completing (after BSN) a Master's program to become a CRNA. I recently learned that some of the CRNA programs will only accept students who have graduated from a NLNAC accredited BSN program. UTA is NLNAC accredited but TWU is not; neither is U of Wyoming. On TWU's site it says they are NLNAC accredited but on the NLNAC site they are NOT LISTED. BSN programs that are accredited are accredited by either NLNAC (NLN) or CCNE. Most are CCNE accredited but not all CRNA schools accept CCNE accreditation, but ALL CRNA programs accept NLNAC accreditation. So that being said, I want a BSN that is NLNAC accredited so that I can apply to ANY CRNA program that I choose. Plus, I only live 20 min. from UTA and you can complete their RN-BSN (full time) by taking classes 1 day per week for 2 semesters. I do plan on my future employer helping with the RN-BSN costs as well.

Before I knew about the accreditation issue I wanted to find an online RN-BSN program. But when I started searching after I found out the info. I only found a few programs and they are MUCH more expensive than UTA and also take longer to complete so that's why I decided to look into UTA again.

Amy

OoOoOoO -- Good information. I've been thinking of CRNA as one of my long term options, too. I hadn't spent very much time looking into it yet though. I guess I need to do some more research. Thanks for letting me know!!

Good for you Jaxia! And you are certainly welcome. The CRNA forum and the pre-CRNA forum on allnurses are both VERY good. Lots and lots of good info.

When I started out at NLC in '91, you had to get a car tag. They knew exactly who the car belonged to. If something was reported, all they had to do is look up your car tag number, and see your schedule, etc.

I have just read in the new "Blazer-guide to NLC" that there is a parking decal available for students from the campus police. Is it the same thing that the tag was? There is not much info about it in the paper so I'll ask them at the station.

Speaking of the new Blazer, my photo is in there. :D It goes with the article about the science learning center but the photo is above the nursing program article so I almost look like a :nurse: student there.

Uh-oh! We've got a super star in our forum! haha. I wish I had access to the Blazer so I could see your cool pic, Katie!

Maybe it is the same thing. I know that I asked about it, and the 'A building' people told me they didn't have them anymore.

It was a little square with a N in the middle...the Northlake logo "N". Then it had a number on it so that the police could tell whose car it was.

I'll have to see if I can find the Blazer.....did you make a copy of the page? That's cool your picture is in it! :monkeydance:

:monkeydance: Y'all be jealous now....I saw Katie & her pic today at lunchtime! :D

I feel so lost after lab today. There's a bunch to have to remember to check when assessing patients!!!! We just got told at the end of lab that we have an 8-3 lab on Friday, even though our schedule says, "Only one lab this week. Will be made up." Not a big deal, saying that I need the practice, but sheesh. :uhoh21:

OK....gotta read & practice Vital signs and assessment on my family. :chuckle

You are most welcome, Spill. I totally feel the same way, that is why I knew I had to share the information :D

Fun -- Wowsers. They weren't kidding when they said they owned you, were they? Sheesh.

lol...no doubt. Apparently it was on the instructor's schedule, but not ours. :uhoh3: Not a biggie....that gives me the opportunity to get more than 1 hour practice. (Open lab schedule only gives 1 hour per pair....10 people total per hour because of only 5 beds per room.)

OK...I just practiced vital signs on my 15 yo daughter. :chuckle I clipped my blood pressure gauger on the bedpost, and because it is a type of bed where it has a head/foot up/down control, I acted like I was raising/lowering the bed. (Of course I had to pretend for real about the side rails.) haha Then I put the control next to her and gave her instructions on how to call the nurse, if needed. (Massager button....:rotfl)

Back to reading for lecture tomorrow. I have 2 1/2 more chapters. I'll practice assessment on my daughter later on & check back in here 'during my break'. :nurse:

Do you record your lectures?

I am sure you'll do great on the VS check off. :wink2: Can you practice with the dual head stethoscope that your instructor will use during check off?
