They usually have 300 applicants for 50 spots. So you better have a GPA of 4.0 to get accepted. If you don't get in , you can't be waiting , you just have to apply again for next semester.

It's not the same thing as a wait list though to have 300 applicants for 50 spots. I'm not sure which method is better, really. I guess for a 4.0 student, the "apply every time" is best.

that means there is no wait list but the program is impacted.
Sorry if I caused confusion, this list was found on the Johnson and Johnson website to promote nursing.

As soon as they start advertising they get filled. I know the JC in Mendicino County (in Ukiah) started their first nursing program last fall. Every one that applied got in, since it is so new I bet there is no waiting list....yet.

At the school I have applied to they accept 125 students, but get around 600 applications. They go by a points scales. You can get up to 4 points from you GPA and up to 4 points for your ACT. They start with applicants who have 8 points and work their way down until they get all 125 slots filled. You have to have A and P 1 and 2 plus Intermediate Algebra to apply. I'm not sure how the waiting list would work. I guess either way it is a fight to get in. It seems like everyone at my school is trying to get those 125 slots.

Quite a few of the schools in NC don't have a waiting list. We normally go by a point system.

What do you mean that there isn't a waiting list yet you have a point system. What exactly do you mean NO WAITING LIST? No waiting list in that all qualified applicants get accepted because there aren't that many applicants or no waiting list in that there are still too many qualified applicants and the remainder of the qualifed applicants simply get rejected? You need to be clear on this.
Many schools that admit based on a lottery are "impacted" and don't have waiting lists-- they simply take the qualifed applicants selected by the lottery and reject everyone else- A no waiting list school.
The schools with point systems go by the grades you have. For an Associate's, you take classes like Expository Writing, A&P I/II, Micro, etc. You also get points for attending an information session. It comes out to 127 points total. I was told that a person needs 80 points to be considered for the program. Schools with waitlists normally just require CNA I and the NET or HOBET.
