No Jobs in CA.. Should I just move?!?!

Published

Hey All,

So I'm a new grad.. Graduated in May got my RN in July.. I've been applying for jobs since March and still nothing..:banghead: I don't know how much longer I can take this rejection!! I'm seriously considering moving to another state.. Has anyone considered moving or is in the process of relocating? Any info/advice would be great!! Thanks :D

I feel YOU! I graduated myself recently and still no luck..i thought moving away from all my contracted nurses area would be an advantage...I just moved to San Jose and no luck since JULY 10th, not even one interview. Moving can be an option, but it should be the last resort, I feel it might be the same everywhere...one human resources said that there are very little jobs for new grads right now, but some in Fresno and Bakersfield, but who wants to live there!? I wish you the best of luck and know that your not alone in this journey. Hang in there!

Thanks PEREZRN.. Hopefully something will come up soon.. If not I'm seriously considering moving to Texas!!

Actually, many new grads in Fresno are having diffuculty finding job too!

Where are you in southern ca and are you only looking in hospitals? Try IHC or some of the rural health centers, They offer stability and good opportunity especially for a new grad.

I am in San Diego and I've been looking at long term care facilities, but they don't even want to train new nurses. For the most part I am looking at hospitals all across CA and LTC facilities around the area. Where is IHC?

I graduated from a nursing school in Illinois and moved back here in Cali. I can tell you for sure that it's also slim pickin' in IL. A couple of my friends that I graduated with are still looking for a job.

hey, PEREZRN mentioned about job in Bakersville and Fresno... now, I am not sure about Bakersville but there is no jobs for new grads in major hospitals in Fresno for sure... I have talked to them myself in the past few months, they said that there is no "new grads"... I have 4 year experience in Telemetry but since it was 6 years ago, they didn't take me either.

Oh by the way, I am new to Fresno but it isn't too bad of a place to live... but you can't live here if you don't have a job, right??
