No Inpatient Psych RN positions available, now what?

Please Help Anyone!!!! I' a RN with 37yrs experience working on Psych units as well on Substance abuse units. I am in a city in up stateNY that has very limited Psych units, (which I have applied to several times with not even a response back-- "if they are interested they will call you." I need to work,more importantly I enjoy working! I'm in need of any suggestions as to what I could possibly do as far as possible option to persue. I would appreciate any feedback. Spirit08:scrying:

I, too, think LTC might be a possibility. Many of the geriatrics have psych problems. I bet any LTC would love to have you ...

Ever thought of Corrections? They have a surplus of psych patients!

What about a week-end programme some distance away and negotiate, maybe you can stay over the week-end and get compensated traveling.

For HOOZDO thanks for your suggestion and your time. I think I need to look more seriously at corrections as that is the 2nd time that suggestion has been made. I have applied at one correctional facility but I didn't do too much F/u because I wasn't sure if I was on the right track. So thanks again. Spirit08

To RN007 thanks for your time in answering my plea. I most of the LTC Ads I've seen they put as a requirement experience in LTC which of course is not me, but hey at the point in my job search adventure I'm open . Thanks Again. Spirit08
