There is a new process for NMC registration and it includes a competency test. I have seen the blueprint for the test and it seems so difficult to pass it. Is there anyone out there who already passed it? If so, can you give tips or some resources for review? Thank you!

@gloucenurse07 do you know where to make the payment for the nmc application fee? í ½í¸„
@yuistefy read the nmc code, standards, guidelines, and publications. Particularly on standards on medicine management, delegation, and infection control. Hope that helps. í ½í¸ƒ
Thanks @blessed22 :) did you take the cbt already?
Yes. I took it last week and luckily, I passed. :) the medsurg part was a bit easy especially if you are currently practicing. The drug and fluid calculations can also be done mentally. I'd say focus more on the nmc policies, rules, and regulations regarding nursing practice. :)
Blessed_22 can i ask you about the cbt? My email ad is [email protected]. Pls contact me. Ty!

Hi! I just read this thread and I would like to ask about CBT because honestly, I don't really know as to what is the present news/updates regarding the practice as a Nurse in the U.K. My employer and/or agency want me to take the CBT as soon as possible but I don't know what would be the review materials or scope of the test as well as the number of items of the test. Your responses are much appreciated. Thanks!
@blessed_22 and @gloucenurse07 Kindly email me because I have more queries about the application/exam. Here's my email ad: [email protected]. Thank you : )
@Trolbella Sorry for the late reply. I was quite busy these past few weeks and I have only seen your message just now. Btw, how was your test? :)
@sapphire_aster, RN, just concentrate on the nmc code, guidelines, and standards of medicine management. You can also read the other publications on the nmc website. As for the medsurg part, other people suggest you read The Royal Marsden Manual. But personally, I did not make use of it. It's your choice if you want to read it. Another tip is that if you encounter an unfamiliar question, always incorporate patient safety and rules on nursing delegation. :) God bless on your upcoming exam!:)
