Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!

The saddest part is that they won't give you any feedback. It's either you pass or fail with no numerical values to at least give us an idea about what went wrong. I emailed the NMC regarding this and all they said was that marking the exam begins with the critical questions and if we get one wrong they wouldn't push through with marking the rest of the questions. It would be super helpful if we at least knew what were those critical questions.

Are the essential questions marked as such on the test?

Hang on...mine def were. I know because I counted them up at the end (as in the ones that were marked essential). I did my test mid November...

alfredpower I'm in Australia but I've been getting advice from the Continental Travel Nurse agency

Just took the test... we'll see how it went.

A few of them had me frustrated w/ ambiguous choices but we'll see. My essential questions were NOT marked.

FYI - there's an updated blueprint on the NMC site - Overseas applications - adult nursing | Nursing and Midwifery Council

hi! first off im sorry i couldn't reply via pm.. i have to get around 15 posts before im allowed to.. honestly i do believe that they're making an effort although i don't think its fair on our part seeing as we were the first batch for the new format. having only 2 tries and already paid for the first we should expect a solid exam experience and not see the need for last minute revisions as quoted from foxtrot below.

i simply want things to be ironed out and get our fair shake in all of this... seeing as if by chance we don't make it through take 2 we have to wait another 6 months or something.

still good luck 2 you too!

honest to god the only time i found marked questions were in the practice exam which was posted AFTER the first take... and seeing that they updated the blueprint >.>

Hi All,

I took the exam yesterday afternoon and just checked my results….I Failed. I'm feeling very frustrated because I felt like the exam blue print was not a good preparation for that exam AT all. My exam was filled with a lot of RANDOM specific nursing scenario questions. Are we all getting the same examination? Prior to the exam, I had basically memorized the code, standards, and many publications off of their website as I assumed that would be what the exam was largely focused on. I do feel like we are being set up to fail!

I just scanned over the new blueprint they put up….It looks very similar to the last one! I'm just feeling overwhelmed at the thought of taking this again because I feel like I don't have a good idea of how to accurately prepare. The new links on their website are vague…I almost feel like they want us to retake nursing school.

Also, does anyone else feel that it is unfair that they are editing the information on the site now after a lot of us have taken the test? My essential questions were also NOT marked on the exam. This is extremely frustrating. Just hoping one of you has a good idea of how to approach this test successfully in order to pass !? Thanks!

yeah.. so its kinda discouraging to take it a second time since we're all unsure if this version of the exam ironed out all the bugs or just added a whole ton of new ones...

the problem for me is that i need it by the end of january.. >.

Did anyone else get a second email from pearson vue, for authorisation to test and it now says i have 2 more attempts (rather than 1)?

Yes I did! But I would prefer to have my money to be refunded due to the fact each test seems to have been different for each and every one of us, which isn't consistent and against fair testing policies....why should I have to pay again?

It's not like it's exactly cheap and we will have to also fork out 950 pounds for the osce test which no doubt will have issues as well.....

yeah a refund would be nice, or a free second attempt because they stuffed it, same same.Though I wonder if the extra attempt is because they've altered it maybe? seems odd that for no reason they'd give us another attempt.
