NMC Test Online

Published

Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!

I find this extremely hard to believe. A hospital that doesn't have a hotline/phone, and a government AND emergency institution at that. I guess I'm just not that jaded yet. So how does your hopital contact or get contacted whenever there are referrals?

Anyway, if that really is the case, you can try finding the "number" that is listed for your hospital in a website or directory as it may be a personal number. If you can't find it, ask your superiors for advise and make sure they are informed and have consented to the use of the number (be it the provincial or their own personal number) to associate "officially" with the hospital in your application. I doubt NMC ever calls most of the institutions' numbers that are submitted to them but it never hurts to cover all your bases.

@kurokocchi Eventhough it may seem unbelievable, it is the truth. Heheh.. I asked my head nurse about it just a while ago when I went there and she told me that she will just give her own mobile number. As for the dry seal, guess what?! We don't have a dry seal. :cheeky:

It is true :cat: I do have the same situation and this is not even a surprise especially from the hospitals in the province. I used the number of the Chief of the Hospital and I informed him about it. As regards the dry seal, well haha the institution I worked with does not have any. But it has been stated there that I'd none exist, then an explanation letter with a letter head of your work place will do

Oh, that's what you were talking about. You need to fill out both of them with the details of the persons you'll be claiming as your references. Coordinate with them first (have them fill out the downloaded forms) to make sure there are no conflicts.

PRC's email address is prc(dot)recordsmgntdiv(at)gmail(dot)com

Is that PRC's email address? Not the one on the homepage or the branch email address?

And, I also have 2 references from the same employer. So that means both the employer details (first page) and the referee details (second page) should be filled up, even if the first pages of the 2 reference are the same?

As for the end date, only you can answer that for obvious reasons. Coordinate this with your two references, considering when you will really end your work, when you will date and send the forms, and when you expect NMC to receive your forms.

For the end date, my agency on the other hand recommends to put the day when you paid the Assessment Fee of GBP 130.

@nilasingnahipon

I ended up choosing Ipams (under CTN) since they offer financial assistance, subsidized housing and food allowance plus a bit higher basic pay compared to CUH.

Glad to know that! :)

Hi,

I really have no idea and I can't give a figure for the timeline. They say I got in easily because I only had 1 hospital experience so it was easy for NMC to assess. But I think it's not the case since I also have other colleagues who also had 1 hospital experience like I do and they're still waiting. I don't know if I have mentioned it here or the other thread I'm also following, I passed CBT last Feb 27, passed the documentary requirements and online application by the first week of April and received the confirmation by April 16/18. I even got glitches on my online account and was not able to upload for almost a month. They say I just got lucky. :)

Wow! Congratulations! You are so lucky! Did you do any follow-up on your own? Or did ASC do that for you? If you don't mind, isn't it that when you get your OSCE date, that's two weeks preparation time only? So that means you're leaving for UK already? :woot:

Wish everyone gets the same chance of luck with our applications! :cat:

Hi @Mitchikay,

I did receive an authorization to take the OSCE. Have you gotten yours too?

Hello! Are you preparing for your OSCE already? If so, would you mind sharing any preparation that you're doing or any review materials? Thanks! By the way, congratulations:yes:

@charee10190 was your osce date sent via email? Did nmc call you for clarification? Was your references and employer also called?

Today got a mail from Pearson which changed my test taking duration to 1 year rather than 6 months. Any one else got the same?

Yeah got one too. I went to check my previously booked exam and nothing was changed. Maybe its a new policy they're implementing.

Hey bluecobalt and rhiashey! I'm also looking into an NHSP who says that I should be the one to shoulder expenses like visa, health surcharge along with that, which totals to more than GBP 1,000 (Php 78,000). I've asked someone here who is also under the same agency and said the Philippine partner, Aureus, told her to prepare Php 40,000 for the embassy fee. All this is still a blur. And is a heavy factor whether I want to push thru with this or not.

Regarding the CBT, IELTS, medical, NMC application, and OSCE.. I think all applicants under the NHS (those following the new system already) are looking at the same expenses and in my case, only the OSCE is the one that my employer is willing to shell out first, and then be deducted in my salary after.

And regarding POEA and other local fees, I haven't heard of personal expenses for these as well.

THE P40k visa fee is also true for ASC so maybe all or most agencies will really advise you regarding that. So far for me, ill take cbt first then get back with PNI Euromena and discuss this fee further. We don't have any contract bond anyways unlike some agencies my friends applied to.

hi. i know previously even the visa was supposed to be salary deduction. but in the new process, we are supposed to pay for the visa? wahhh. i did not see this coming. how about our airfare to uk? and is it true that the visa will only be 6 months and we have to go back to the philippines even if we pass the osce to process our tier 2 working visa? this us what i read at infonurses.com.

hi everyone. for the Declaration of Good Health , is it okay if i go to my ob gyne to have it filled out? she is asking me what the STAMP means. is this like a dry seal? does your doctor have that?

also, can we send school documents, letter of references, and declaration of good health in one mail? why do i need an extra school envelope? :)

Well the needing to go back to the Philippines isnt information ive encountered. From what i see on the immigration site the UK has is they already have in place a tier 2 visa scheme in place for us who are about to take the osce. And the only conditions that are in place is the healthcare fee about 600 GP plus for a 3 year visa, which is dependent on the request and COS our employers will be creating for us, that our OSCe be payed for and scheduled by the time we go into visa processing and that our visa start date will only be a maximum of 14 days before our OSCE schedule.

I think each offer varies about what they cover, what will be reimbursed and what they will pay for and later set up as salary deductions. But what I am sure of is that the air fare by law must be covered by the employer or be reimbursed.

Your school items must be sent separately since the NMC clearly states that it has to be sent of by your school and not by you.

But the health declaration and employer references may be sent as one package, though it may be a good idea to keep them in seprarate envelopes. An ObGyne can complete your health declaration, and most doctors do have a doctors stamp with their name and specialty and license number on it.

@thesportyscribe

yes. Your obgyn can fill the declaration of good health form. AFAIK any medical practitioner can fill it out as long as he/she is not related to you, or you are not employed by him/her. And yes the stamp means the dry seal. If there is none, a letter of explanation with the doctor's letterhead would be necessary.

Yes. You may send all the other three documents together provided that all the forms from your school are sealed in their own envelope, as per my agency. That is why you need the extra school envelope. For the thrifty peeps out there, you can have your documents sent by your agency (ASC and Omanfil, i dont know about IPAMS can anyone verify?)

PS i understand that there is a note that states the school docs must be sent by the school itself. I have clarified this and as long as it is sealed with the school envelope, it is good to go. Hope this helps
