Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!
Hi guys. No DL yet but I'm scheduled for visa appointment on the 25th. I'm feeling supremely anxious especially cause there was a discrepancy at the VSF website when I registered: for some reason, the date of issue that was reflected on my registration form was the date of application and we couldn't change it back. T_T Something wrong with their system, perhaps?
For those already in the UK, how did your visa appointments at VFS go guys? I really hope someone would reply. T_T

Hi when were you put on queue?
Sent an email to NMC asking for updates. Hehe not really rushing them, just asking for a status update :).
BTW guys... for those in the visa processing stage: I cancelled the VFS appointment. This is a pretty long story but I thought I'd share, especially to those who are planning to book visa appointments on their own, so we can avoid future mistakes.
The situation is, after our local agency paid for my visa fee, we were able to schedule an appointment this May (apparently all slots for April are already filled). There's a misleading button in the visa application portal that will make it seem like you still need to register to the VFS website despite having already booked an appointment.
We took the bait and completed the VFS registration form (oddly, the only option for visa type is "overseas citizenship", which should've set off the alarms in my head already since we all know we're tier 2 - and in our case, under the occupation shortage subcategory) but we shrugged it off and continued with the application.
We were asked for a UKN reference number and for a moment we wondered what the eff a UKN ref number was. My visa reference number from UKVI began with GFW.
The note said that the UKN reference number began with UKN (obviously hehe) followed by an 8-digit number. For some reason I was mislead to think that I was supposed to replace the GFW part with UKN. And then we typed in what we thought were the same numbers as my UKVI reference number. And voila! It worked!
Among the other things I had to fill out was my passport expiry date -- it's important to note that the issue date wasn't asked for. So imagine our surprise when we finalized our application and the date of issue appeared on the final form: and it was dated April 20, 2017, which was completely wrong.
We tried editing but we couldn't go back. It was strange. We were never asked to enter my passport's date of issue in the first place. How did it come to reflect the wrong date?
(Alarms screaming VISA DENIED! VISA DENIED! were going wayhire in my head at thay point. Hehe.).
We took a screenshot of the discrepancy to show to the people at VFS in case they ask (but it did little to ease that feeling in my stomach). As far as I'm concerned, visa applications should not have glitches, however minor, because it's one of, if not the crux of our application.
But we continued anyway. Haha. And the alarms further went berserk when we were asked to select an appointment date (something which is supposedly settled already in the visa4uk account). Lo and behold, there were still slots available for the last week of April. I mean, what gives?? I thought, as per the visa4uk account, that April through the first week of May were already fully booked?
We selected the 25th of April anyway and proceeded.
So then I had 2 visa appointments, and a passport issue date discrepancy on my VFS registration form. Safe to say I couldn't sleep that night cause I was super anxious. This morning I pored through the VFS website again and when I cross-checked the VFS reference number against the UKVI reference number, I noticed something: the last digit of my UKVI ref number was eliminated from the VFS reference number. As far as I know, they should be the same.
I've had enough at that point. Something was very wrong. Instinct dictates that there should be no hitches like these especially in something as monumental as visa application. So I searched for hours on the web and I realized that VFS registrations are only meant for those applying for British citizenship (as they have the required UKN reference number).
So far once we get an appointment after paying for our visa fee per visa4uk, there's no more need to book another appointment per VFS. That button on the visa4uk guide is really misleading.
Still need further confirmation, but I've already calmed down monumentally after having cancelled my VFS appointment. Should I be wrong about this, then I guess we could book another appointment.
Thank you for sharing.

hello guys. i have some questions for those applicants who were currently employed at the time when they process their application. im currently filling out the needed details in the online nmc portal. in the employer details section, what date did you enter in the employment end date? and another thing, do i also need to fill out the "next employer" section after the "most recent" even though my two referees work under one hospital?

Put in the date you will submit your application,
Under next employer just input the same info if both referrals work in the same hospital,
Hello!
Have any of you tried to have your portal reopened? Would you mind sharing your experience?
There was something wrong with the NMC website this morning. I checked that the details for my references were OK before clicking Submit, but after I did, the details weren't updated! I had just e-mailed IT support to reopen my portal.

The agency that I am signed to (Brookes Recruitment) are able to assign the COS prior to the DL. I think they just need to know that applicants are being proactive with submitting documents to NMC portal. It ultimately depends on the employer really. Some employers wont' assign the COS until DL has been issued. Maybe try contacting Brookes.
