My goodness. I am sorry you are going through that. I myself am going through the exact same thing. I just cannot explain it and I am not as eloquent as you. But I feel the exact same way about my department. I work in Trauma and Orthopedics as a new scrub nurse (we do not have scrub techs where I'm from). So you can imagine how toxic and how busy and fast-paced it can be. The senior nurses can be very mean to new ones. I guess it's just the way it is... Until we gain their respect. It might take a looong time, maybe years... Until we can master the routine and be fully independent and then we won't need to rely on them for anything anymore.

For any one who is kind enough to answer these questions, I salute you. :) 1. Do I need to clean the neck of the ampule (before opening it) when preparing IM medications? 2. Do I need to clean the bottle of alchohol gel when preparing for ANTT? 3. Do I need to make a dramatic script when I'm doing the IM injection? (Pretending I'm looking for the patient's home, and acting like I'm a community nurse, etc. wait for her to let me in, etc etc) 4. How many times do I need to change aprons when doing IM and ANTT? Any replies are much much appreciated!

Hello everyone.. I'm about to take my OSCE soon. I was wondering if you still need to inform the patient that you're going to count respirations? The Royal Marsden says that the patient should not know that the respirations are being counted so as not to alter results. Any insight about this would be very much appreciated.

The agency doesn't matter in the NMC application per se.

Hello! Have any of you tried to have your portal reopened? Would you mind sharing your experience? There was something wrong with the NMC website this morning. I checked that the details for my references were OK before clicking Submit, but after I did, the details weren't updated! I had just e-mailed IT support to reopen my portal.
