November 2-6 CONSTANTLY BUGGING NMC THROUGH EMAIL LOL

November 7 DL arrived

I put all (four) my documents in one envelope and sent it to nmc uk. Upon checking my nmc account, all but one was already scanned. What is the best thing to do? I'm worried that it might ne misplaced in their office. Should I just wait?

Hello, I think it would be better to contact NMC to address your issue.

If you contact them via email it would take a week or two before you will get a reply from them and if you want an immediate answer it would be better to call them instead.

Also calling them somehow speed up the process..:)

Hi All!

I am in the beginning stages of this process, currently studying for the online Test of Competence.

I am feeling a bit overwhelmed in terms of how to focus my studying. I am a Canadian nurse who has written the NCLEX exam, my current plan was to study the blueprints and complete practice questions that I used to study for the NCLEX exam.

Does anybody have further pointers or resources that they used to help study and pass the exam?

Hoping to write the exam next month but have not yet registered for the exam in case that is not enough study time.

Thank you in advance for any help!

dont read the nclex. For me, it wont help since rules and regulations of US is different from UK. Second, CBT format is not the same with n nclex so dont stress urself that much. From my experience CBT is all about basic nursing and majority of questions were taken word by word from Royal Marsden Book. I totally adviced you to read that book from cover to cover. Dont forget to ingest every word about nursing code as well.

Samples of questions i encountered from CBT exam:

-simple drug computations: order was 1gram paracetamol, stock was 500gram/tablets - how many tablets to give

-From royal marsden - steps to do if you were pricked accidentaly. Color of trash bin for hazardous waste.

-nursing code - definiton if compassion.

It happened also to me. Dont worry... they will upload it also after some days...

hello, the royal marsden book and the code of nurses in UK are sufficient enough to pass the exam.

read the book from cover to cover.

Also if you would read some of the previous post from this thread you will find other helpful pointers from other test takers.

But in my case I only read those two and luckily pass the exam. I never got the chance to view and read the blueprint.

Hope this helps.

Goodluck on your exam..:)

-agree 100%

that's a relief. Thank you. :)

Great! Thank you all for your help and pointers for studying!!

On average, how long did most people give themselves to prepare for the test?

hi.

were you ask to resubmit any documents? Thank you.

One month would suffice. I've heard that the exam now is getting harder as compared to, say, last year or earlier this year (probably because of the high passing rate). So its always good to take the exam fully prepared!

Best of Luck!

For the employee references... Do both references have to come from separate employers? or can I have both references from the same employer even though I have 2 current separate employers?

It would depend on your choice.

you can choose one employee reference from your previous hospital and the other from your current hospital or you can choose to have both of your references from your current employer only. The end date would be the same date they sign your references.
