Hi 'tianYep, i did it on my own under "direct/name hire". If you have completed the documents needed including the PDOS certificate then the process will be within 1 day.PDOS will be on weekly or monthly basis, so you need to check with your local POEA/OWWA office.Medical Certificate is required by the POEA. Results will be after 3 days. That is why you need to at least plan for POEA processing 1 month prior to intended departure.

hello westmack and 'tian
I am also an RN here in the middle east (oman)
I have UCLH as my employer in the UK. I am set to take CBT very soon. I decided to go to the philippines to take my CBT there and process my police clearance since the Philippine embassy and CBT testing center is so far away from where I work and live.
Ihaven't passed my resignation yet in my hospita (it also takes 3 months for that to be effective). I plan to do that once I'm on the assessment stage of NMC registration.
My agency in the Philippines said to me that since I am going home to the Philippines. I should also do my TB medical plus other medical tests. To be honest, my agency hasn't given me guidance with this whole process as much as I want to. I have to resort to researching on my own.
If I pass the CBT in the Philippines, I will pass my resignation when I get back here in Oman on March.
Here are my concerns:
1. What other requirements can i process while I'm there in the Philippines? (I will be there for 20days only)
2. Should I do the medical testing when I'm in the Philippines considering that it will only be valid for 3 months? I fear it will expire before I resign here and have to take it again.
3. When is the best time to file for resignation? the 3-month resignation process coinciding with the NMC registration and visa processing seems very tricky.
4. Will UCLH be willing to wait for me finish all my requirements which is taking quite a long time? I received a conditional offer letter from them just last week. I really hope they will be patient with me because I really really really want to work for them.
Hoping for your reply. Thank you for all you useful info here in the thread especially for us nurses that are here in the middle east.

Aleftie,
With regards to CBT I think it's better if you should've taken anywhere else near, like Dubai? But in your case since you already booked in the Philippines just take it in the Philippines. Once you passed the CBT, the assessment will be be maximum of 70 days. Try getting NBI clearance since it's difficult getting it overseas but bear in mind, it's only valid for 3 mos. Don't do medicals yet because it expires. Which agency hired you?
With regards to resignation, it's like resign at your own risk. I'm also trying to weigh thing up. I already have decision letter and employer. Will take ukvi academic this month. Hopefully I can process from here.
Just PM me if you have concerns.
Christian
thanks for your reply 'tian!
That 70days you said about the assessment stage, does that mean I have 70 days to complete and submit the documents NMC requires or does it also include the waiting time for NMC to release a decision?
Lastly, is the UKVI academic part of the requirements needed for the assessment stage?
I'm quite overwhelmed with all the requirements ahead. My CBT is very near so the pressure is on. I'm trying to be positive though. Blessed to have progressed to this level.
It's 70 days from the time you have submitted the application online which will cover the time you have completed the requirements. This is just the maximum, I did mine for 1 and 1/2 mos since I completed the application. It depend really on how fast you are in accomplishing the requirements since you will need both licenses and clearances from Phil and Oman, and the school of course.\
UKVI is needed for immigration purposes. You can take that after CBT. It's more expensive than the usual IELTS but you only need I think 4.0 in all subtests.
If you read the threads here previously, you can pass the exam. It has lots of suggestions what to read and what to focus.

Hi everyone! So I was editing my data for the full assessment when suddenly there was a critical error. When I returned to the site, my data was wiped out including the parts pre-filled by nmc. My uploaded documents were still there such as the passport however, when I try to download the diploma, it says it failed to load. Is anyone here experiencing the same thing? Is there a problem with the site?

Hi!I just passed the cbt last January 26, and until now, it still didn't reflect on my nmc account that I can proceed to paying the fees for the assessment stage. and I still haven't received any email from nmc regarding my cbt. has anyone tried this? This is getting nerve wracking since I've read that NMC will usually get back to you within 48 hours after passing the CBT. thanks!

Hi Westmack,
I am waiting for my authorization letter from NMC to take OSCE hopefully by first week of Mrach. I would really appreciate if you could recommend any OSCE coaching centre in London. I'm just freaking out as i don't know what to expect in OSCE test.
Thanks in advance.
Thank so much indeed. I have neither of them, worried now!

Hey guys, well I was one of the first to do the newly introduced CBT test and failed- but very happy to report I've repeated today and passed :) :)
a few things: you can check your result about 15 mins after checking out of the testing centre by logging onto your online account.
a few drug calcs but VERY basic. Do a little study on: safeguarding adults and children, anaphylactic reactions, elderly/dementia care, community nursing basics, disclosure of personal info basics, read the code and standards. There is ample time so make use of this and flag questions to return to if you need :)
