Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!
Hi Westmack,thanks for reply.
anyway, can you just give some instructions how to process from other countries? I'm confused as to how to do it overseas. I want to process my visa as much as possible since we also have 3 mos notice.
thanks

Hi 'tian,
You can check this site of VFS global. You will submit the documents to your local VFS office without the need to go to the UK embassy.
https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/global/index.html
You might need to include the following for submission:
-Cert of Sponsorship
-Cert of employment
-IELTS original copy (should be UKVI)
-If you are in a foreign country: copy of residence permit (with original translation if not in english)
-Original passport
-2 Pictures (UK visa)
-Print the accomplished form after registration in VFS-global site.
-Credit Card: You need to pay around 600pounds for Visa application and another 200pounds per year for IHS (international Health Surcharge)
Your IHS number will be used just in case that you will be needing NHS services. In my case, my contract is 3 years so I have paid 600pounds for 3 years. Total: for VISA application around1,200 pounds.
(*note: IHS is compulsory ).
There are agencies or other employer that pays for the visa processing. You might wanna check that out. But if you want faster processing time, then you might as well do it on your own and let your employer later reimburse what you have spent.
Hi westmack,
that's a relief. The employer will just reimburse the expenses. Wait, no medicals ? Well i've checked ukvi website and there's no need to for tb testing since i live here in uae for almost 2 yrs. There was no mention about medicals either
so, after i have my ukvi academic. I'll have the cos then file online? Is it?
By the way, how about poea? Like the agency back home wants me to go back due poea stuff too.
thanks. I really appreciate your help.

Hi 'tian,
Yep, no need for medical exam or TB exam since you are in a country that is not listed in UKVI's site that needs TB testing. I did not submit any medical certificate.
Yup that's it, be sure that you have the UKVI IELTS before you apply. If I am not mistaken, you will just need a score of 4 in all area. I presume that you are already done with the NMC registration which requires a score of 7.
If you are going back to PH prior deployment to UK then you need to go to POEA for processing. But if you will go directly to UK from UAE, I am not sure but I think you can just go to OWWA later on when you arrive here. The immigration officers in UK are not really checking the Overseas Employment Certificate, they will just check your valid visa and your contract.
Anyway, if ever that you need to process the Overseas Employment Certificate as a direct hire (no agency) Then this is the process:
-prepare your contract/offer letter- 2photocopies
-photocopies of passport and UK visa - 2 copies
-employment certificate from previous employer
-details of your employer: what hospital, address, contact number. e-mail, you might want to include a printed google map of the hospital/office.
-photocopy of your diploma
-NBI clearance
-medical certificate (ask them about accredited labs/clinic)
-payment : prepare around 6 thousand pesos. Other payments: Pag-ibig, Philhealth, OWWA.
-If pre-approved then they will endorse you to OWWA for PDOS. After obtaining your PDOS then go back to POEA for the final OEC.
This is the process in the provincial office of POEA, I am not sure how they do it in Manila.
oops IHS means Immigration Health Surcharge. Sorry :)

Westmack,
you are really a great help. You brought light to my struggles. I guess I will just go home after I have my visa here. It's better so that I don't need to go home just for visa processing.
I will be having my UKVI academic this feb. Actually that's all I needed, done with the DL. My cos might be filed a month before the effectivity of my resignation since cos expires for 3 mos - which is just same as my notice period.
By the way, which one is you trust if i may ask? how long have you been there? have you had your osce?
many thanks
Christian
Hi Christian,
No worries bro, just want to help since I myself have been struggling before.
I know it is really hard especially if you are in the middle east.
Just a reminder that once you have the Visa, you have to be in UK within 1 month or else you will have to re-apply for a new one. Once you are here in UK they will issue your Biometric Residency Permit.
Been here since December 2015. I am scheduled for OSCE this Feb. I am under University College London Hosp.
All the best to you bro.
Westmack,
Thanks a lot. I hope I can process asap as possible.
I will be asking you some stuff for sometime since we both came from middles east. It's just so difficult to process from here when everyone is saying we should process in the Philippines.
Anyway, which agency did you have in the Philippines and how come they allowed you to process in Saudi. This agency in the Philippines where I am hired in another hospital won't allow me to process from here.
Thanks
Christian
Hi Christian,
I do not have an agency in the Philippines. My agency is based here in UK. So i have processed the POEA thing on my own.
In my own opinion, if you are going to let the PH agency do the process, it might be a little delayed since you cannot work at your own pace.
Hi Sunmoonstar,
While working in the middle east, they have interviewed me and got the post. Everything went so fast that in less than a month after I have resigned from my work I finally arrived here in UK. Most of the hospitals here will let you work as Healthcare Assistant while processing your NMC PIN.
Westmack,
I have an agency based in UK also, I am communicating to them directly. They just have local partners in the Philippines for poea sake. But i intend to process here in uae. At least I have the access to it rather than go home.
Did you process your poea when you went home? How long does it take? I am planning to have it when my notice becomes effective and go back home. I supposed the visa is just good for a month, poea processing will that be long?
thAnks
Hi 'tian
Yep, i did it on my own under "direct/name hire". If you have completed the documents needed including the PDOS certificate then the process will be within 1 day.
PDOS will be on weekly or monthly basis, so you need to check with your local POEA/OWWA office.
Medical Certificate is required by the POEA. Results will be after 3 days. That is why you need to at least plan for POEA processing 1 month prior to intended departure.
