Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!

Hi Kurokocchi,

thanks for ur reply. I haven't receive reply from NMC about my referee.BTw, did u also post ur barcoded documents at once.. .? As I've read different advice in the thread. But putting all this documents in 1 safe envelope and post it via DHL at once and having only one tracking number is the most practical, cost effective and convenient way that I can imagine. What is your thought about this and what did u actually did with ur docs?

Hi guys. Just wanted to ask. How many days does it take for the NMC to scan or upload the documents? As per tracking with DHL, my documents were already delivered since November 16 and yet, there was no note/feedback that was reflected on my account that the NMC has "received" my documents. And I'm kind of worried right now..

Mine took 5 days from delivery in London before being reflected as "received" in the NMC account.

That's what I, fellow candidates, and most people here did. You can lump them all together except for the registration verification forms. This is required by NMC to be filled in and sent by your registration authority only.

Thank you. :) @dodoy

Hi Kurokocchi

I am already in the process of securing all the barcoded documents and I have a problem with my referees. You see, I was just a volunteer nurse for 2 years and 6 months and I stopped working in 2013 as a nurse. Will they accept my work experience or do I need to secure another one which states that I am a staff nurse? Also, I did not volunteer in a tertiary hospital. I am really worried. I hope you will reply on this. :drowning:

Volunteering/training in a clinical/hospital setting does count as nursing practice so long as you've accumulated at least 12 months experience in the past 3 years. Where did you volunteer?

I actually volunteered in a hospital here in our place. Is it okay if it is not a tertiary hospital?

Yes, that's acceptable.

Hi Kurokocchi,

I worked as a volunteer staff nurse from January 2, 2012 up to February 28, 2013 and returned to the same hospital setting from April 1, 2015 up to present. My agency told me to get my two references from my January 2, 2012 up to February 28, 2013 experience because NMC won't accept my current experience (April 1, 2015 up to present) if I place it in my reference form because it's just 8 months.

Regarding "the past 3 years experience" that you mentioned, will my January 2, 2012 up to February 28, 2013 experience be accepted by NMC? I'm about to send my reference forms to NMC next week.

Thank you.

Quoted from NMC Requirements to join the registration:

"We define 'practising' as working in some capacity by virtue of their registration as a nurse or midwife. Practice can include administrative, supervisory, teaching, research and managerial roles as well as providing direct patient care. This can also include volunteer work as long as any practice is registered. If the applicant has not undertaken any duties as a registered nurse or midwife in the three years prior to making their application, they should contact us to discuss available options."

Hope this helps[emoji6]
