2019 NMC Decision Letter

UK NMC decision Letter stories, CoS stories and experiences

Updated:   Published

So, I decided to start this thread so we can discuss our U.K. NMC decision letter stories as well as CoS and Tier 2 visa application in the year 2019. Especially with all the new updates and changes with the NMC for international registration and Brexit.

I joined the queue on the 20th of February and still waiting for my DL. I know it is still early. But these days, people have been testifying to getting it in less than 15 working days. I am really anxious. Anyone submitted around the time, and still waiting for their DL as well?

Usually, it's the date the last document was uploaded on your portal. Go to NMC> My Applications> Open tab in the Full Application and Assessment part. You'll see your uploaded documents on the topmost part. But sometimes, the dates posted there differ from your actual queue date so it's best to call or e-mail them to confirm. ?

Yup, I might get disappointed if I will hear the same response. I just e-mailed them instead and expect their reply after a week. I've been praying non-stop since yesterday. I'm really hoping my DL will arrive today or tomorrow. It's the 28th day tomorrow and this is way possible right?

Wow! Good for you! Is that working days or calendar days? Thanks.

Well, I’m pretty sure they will give you the same answer every time you will call. They did that to me. ? But that never stopped me. I ring them and email them at least twice a week. Haha.

Mine was 20 working days. 26 calendar days.

Just keep your faith burning. ♥️

Thanks dear, that means as such Q date is not mentioned anywhere in the application. Tentatively it is the date when they receive our last document. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I might call them later. Thank you! I realized the 20th working day from my queue date will be tomorrow. Cannot wait! ?

It really depends on your priorities or personal preferences. In my case, I chose care homes because I could not stand the environment in a hospital. I don't like dealing with emergency situations. And I only realized later on that the salary is higher compared to NHS.

Nope, it is never mentioned officially in the portal. Actually, the NMC calls it as the date the applicant joined the queue but we call it "Queue Date" in short. And yes, usually it's the time you clicked "Submit" or the date the last document was uploaded in the portal.

It totally depends on you, your area of specialization, area you feel most confident/competent etc.

Personally, I will always choose a hospital setting, the acute setting of hospital will give you opportunities to learn new things no matter how long you’ve been in this career. Care homes tend to be “long term care” settings and could be monotonous and boring when you get used to the routine.

But then again, this whole thing depends on you

I got mine after 18 days. But my colleague who submitted her application 4 days earlier than me got her DL after 51 days. Her application was under investigation for some time because of lacking documentation (saudi police clearance that got expired 3 days before submission) as well as lost documents (PRC RAV). NMC lost her PRC RAV, good thing it was found anyway.

Wow 18 days, it's quite early. It's 18 working days or calendar days?

Wow that was fast. Did you do any follow up when you got your QD?
