Hi everyone,
I am a registered nurse in the Philippines and now working as an Intensive Care Unit Nurse here in Saudi Arabia for almost two years.
I am planning to move my nursing career further in Ireland. I have paid the €350 assessment fee with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and the accounts department already provided me with a pin and advised me to wait for the delivery of my application pack.
The assessment fee was processed since April 17, 2015. I just wonder about how long it would take me to receive the application pack here in Saudi Arabia.
I hope that someone could help me. I'm so excited to process my application for Registration with NMBI.
Thanks.
Hi guys,I have been a member for a while now but just decided to post today. I have been through a lot and here I would share with you my journey in detail:
Oct 11: passed Tallaght Hospital interview at Chesham (I was told to be ready for March/April adaptation)
Oct 22: requested for my NMBI pack
Nov 13: pack received on my email through my agency
Nov 28: scheduled for interview at ABBA for St Vincents University Hospital Dublin (I didn't go which I totally regretted)
Nov 21: NMBI received my Employer's Reference
Nov 28: NMBI received my CCPS
Dec 7: NMBI received my Transcript of Training
Dec 8: NMBI received my Section 1 (this took forever since my agency wanted to check the draft first before they allowed me to send it to Ireland. They also didn't respond to my mails and texts and took forever to answer phone calls so it took me a month before I was able to send it.)
Last week Jan to 1st week Feb: At this time I started getting alarmed since those people that were on the same interview as me back in October already got their Decision Letters even when I started processing mine wayyy before they did. I tried emailing/calling NMBI to follow-up but nothing happened (my documents remained outstanding).
2nd week of Feb:
-At some point, I was informed by about 2 NMBI agents that they didn't receive the Verification Form from PRC and that only my Good Standing arrived. They said that they have been waiting for this document since November. They advised me to resend another CCPS but I insisted that both documents (Verification and Good Standing) were sent together in one envelope as confirmed by PRC staff. It turned out that my Verification Form was only misplaced and that NMBI found it afterwards. Going through this ordeal, I realized that CPL (Chesham's Dublin-based agency) really never tried to follow-up my NMBI, not even once despite all my efforts of reminding Chesham about it a few times. If I had only I known this would happen, I would have contacted NMBI last December or right after I finished sending all the documents right away. Due to this, I decided that it is best to transfer to finally move on and transfer to another agency which is Kate Cowhig Recruitment (KCR), which I had planned since way back November.
*My advise to those that are still on this stage or about to start their application is to "contact NMBI as often as you could". If you notice that there is something wrong, don't hesitate to follow up. Yes you might have an agency but some of them don't bother with it due to sheer number of applicants they are handling or whatever reasons they have.
To continue
Feb 15: Emailed and finally got a response within an hour (Status changed to Review Pending)
Feb 22: Passed the skype interview of SVUH through KCR (they scheduled me for June adaptation)
Mar 1: Assessment
Mar 15: Decision Pending
Mar 21: DL received by KCR (it took 4 months from my last document sent until issuance, very looong I know)
Last week of Mar: submitted all the necessary documents to the hospital in preparation for the processing of my NMBI certificate and ATWS
2nd week of April: Paid my ATWS (which will be reimbursed)
April 25: Received a depressing email from my KCR consultant which said that my adaptation got pushed back and that I won't be included for the June since according to them only a handful of nurses were taken as the hospital didn't have enough slots.
Until now, my processing is still put on hold. My NMBI still shows Decision Pending. From what I was told, DATHS currently have put all adaptation schedules on hold as they are reserving slots for future Irish nurses that are graduating soon.
Does anyone share the same experience as me? Let me know.
Kudos to you for your perseverance. I only heard bad reviews about Chesham so I never really considered that agency. Anyhow, wow it took you about a month fron review pending to DL pending, where all of the other timelines I read here only took them a week from review pending to DL pending.
My status is Review pending since Friday last week and I hope it will change to Assessment soon, a friend of me who was a week earlier than me had her status changed from Review pending to Assessment in just one day.
Good luck to us!

Yes it really took a long time for mine which is why I'm glad that you guys are not experiencing what I had experienced then. It was never fun haha.
That is good! Maybe you will have yours in a few days. What is your agency btw?

My status just changed from Review Pending to Assessment. I was wondering what happened to yours? Why it took them a month from Review Pending to DL Pending.
I'm under KCR thankfully. Chesham never replied to my email application but KCR lined me up for interview in Manila last May. I have no complaints so far.
It has been 3 weeks since I mailed my application form to the NMBI and both my agency here in the Philippines and NMBI haven't responded to my emails regarding the application pack. Last week I asked the local postman if I have a parcel coming from abroad but he said none. What should I do? Should i call NMBI and when is the best time to call?
Hi everyone, since on the 26 of last month my nmbi account changed to further info required it has not changed to assessment. I replied their mail on 29 of May stating for clarification on date I registered with the nursing board in my country. I've called nmbi twice on this issue, at first they told me that they are conducting assessment even though online account show further info. The last person I called told me it will be updated after 15 working days. Im really confused. I nice suggestion would help

Hi there, there will be no advice from NMBI the exact date they have mailed your application pack. If your bank account was charge, usually they will mail the pack after 2-3 working days, from that day, count 11 days and expect your application pack in your post office. That is what I experienced. If you addressed your pack to be delivered in your agency, once they received it, they will email you with a scanned copy.
Dear ALL,As per my agent, my adaptation will start by July last week, My NMBI status changed to Adaptation secured.
Hi Jerry first of all, Congratulations!
I am also from Kate Cowhig, and will be working in CUH but I still yet to receive my decision letter.
Anyway, can you give me your timeline, from receipt of Decision Letter to all the processes requested by KCR to give me an idea.
Thank you!

Sorry I couldn't respond to your PM. Allnurses does not allow me to use private messages yet probably due to low post count. Can you please send me your FB account name instead so I'll be the one to contact you?
Hope you see this message. Thanks.
