Hi everyone,
I am a registered nurse in the Philippines and now working as an Intensive Care Unit Nurse here in Saudi Arabia for almost two years.
I am planning to move my nursing career further in Ireland. I have paid the €350 assessment fee with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and the accounts department already provided me with a pin and advised me to wait for the delivery of my application pack.
The assessment fee was processed since April 17, 2015. I just wonder about how long it would take me to receive the application pack here in Saudi Arabia.
I hope that someone could help me. I'm so excited to process my application for Registration with NMBI.
Thanks.
DATHs have halted deployment for their foreign nurses at this time to prioritize new Irish nurses that are graduating soon. I was supposed to leave this June but they postponed it, under further notice.
who told you ma'am that DAThS halted their employment for foreign nurses? Do you have an offer letter already ma'am? That's so depressing if that's the case...
Im still waiting for my DL.. do you know your hospital? When i called chesham and im asking them which hospital will i be employed, they did not tell me. Im worried too... but still hoping that we will be deployed soon... let us keep praying..
Yes they told me already. I'm under st james hospital. But they said there's no deplyment date yet. Which is depressing. I've been waiting since april. I do hope we can still be deployed! Can we maybe update each other? I'll message you when I hear anything about the deployment.

Okay. I'll update you too when i have some info. I will be going to chesham on tuesday to pass some requirements. I will try to ask them about it. Sending private message here is not available with my account. I want to send you my number so that we could update each other easily but i don' t know how.

Hi mam. I was referring to the deployment of those nurses they already interviewed. They put a halt to it. They are still hiring in preparation for the future though.
I was actually from Chesham (Tallaght Hospital) but I decided to transfer after I found out that the agency never followed up NMBI about my documents that it took 4 long months for my DL to be issued.
Back in February, I officially transferred to KCR and went through a skype interview with a panel from St Vincents and passed. Then, I was told that I would be joining the June adaptation instead of the one for April since there was not enough time for them to process my papers. I had all my documents submitted. Job offer letter and adaptation consent both signed. And then suddenly came April 25th, I received a depressing email from my consultant in Dublin saying my adaptation got pushed back. Until now, I still have no news. I have been calling them from time to time to ask for updates but there really is nothing for now. They said that they too were disappointed about this whole ordeal and that they didn't see it coming.
Apparently, the DATHs are reserving slots for those Irish nurses that are about to graduate. Not all of them will be staying in Ireland as most of the bunch go abroad (as proven every year) but the hospitals will have to wait until they know the exact number of those nurses that are staying. According to my consultant, there are about 25 of us under KCR (some under Abba) that were supposed to leave this June for St Vincents but got delayed.

Hi. When were you interviewed? I also have been waiting since February.
Maybe we can all add each other on facebook so we can share updates.

Now i see.. that is why when i checked the job posting for daths in workabroad, the job posting is closed. Supposedly the daths will have interview in the Philippines on july but i think it was cancelled because some of my co workers are applying too and they were not entertained by the agency..
I hope that there would be positive outcome with this situation...

I think this is the first time that it happened to the 4 DATHs (St Vincents, St James, Mater Misericordiae, and Beaumont). Tallaght, since last year, has been having problems with it. Plenty of their interviewed nurses that were affected waited for a long time. The good thing with Chesham/CPL though is that they are connected with Naas General Hospital (about 30mins west of Dublin) which takes in those nurses that got delayed.
If your coworkers are willing to work outside Dublin, my agency KCR has plenty of listings posted. They don't need to go to Abba just to get interviewed because KCR offers skype interviews almost weekly. I think the agency is still looking for nurses to work in Cork, Limerick, Sligo, Galway and South Tipperary.

Sad thing is that we are not allowed unless we make about 15 threads. I really want us all to keep in touch. Are you part of the Filipino Nurses in Ireland - 2nd Generation facebook group? If yes, please go to that comment posted 13 hours ago by someone with initals CCD. I "liked" it. My initials are KT. (I wish there was an easier way to do this )
Oh that's cool. My DL came out wayyy before his. Was he interviewed last November at Abba? They are so lucky. SVUH were only able to accommodate about 13 people from the agency and they chose those that were interviewed during their Manila campaign.
