Good morning..I'm a new member here..I had been reading this site for quite sometime now...I find this site very useful as I'm planning to apply licensure in NM...I have some questions though, I hope someone would be kind enough to reply...
I have read in some threads that NM licensure renewal needs SSN, what happens to the license if the nurse fails to renew?
Retrogression is present here in th Philippines, so I'm expecting that if I pass NCLEX and IELTS, then apply for VisaScreen Certificate, be petitioned, then apply for green card now, my papers for immigration will be processed in year 2013 or 2014... and NM license expires every 2 years...
What happens if the my papers for immigration will be processed in year 2013 and I don't have an active license in NM?
have you emailed and ask if its ok to send the renewal form via facsmile? if so it would be ok for you to send it and the payment will be deducted to your card upon confirmation on their office, hopefully if they process your renewal on the same day it would reflect on your bank statement the fee you paid since major credit cards are internationally monitored.regarding about the primary state of residence, write in your real primary location, if you're in the Philippines just write Manila Philippines. its understandable that you're intending to practice in New Mexico but your papers are still on the process.
And if you plan to work in Florida but still in the Phil, just put New Mexico in the last part. Just like in my case, since im in Florida right now and planning to work here in the future i still put New Mexico and Florida on that part as my intended states to work for in the future.
Hope this help. if you have more question email me
coz i think we have the same case. :heartbeat
I am from Philippines too. However, I am from Malaybalay City. should i put MALAYBALAY, PHILIPPINES.. or Manila?
,thank you so much yam2009 and NurseCubanita. that was really helpful. i hope i won't have problems with my renewal application too.
No problem. I'm just trying to help by sharing my experience because we have similar concerns regarding those stuffs, and one thing, we are living in the same country.
"Photocopies of certificates must be submitted to the Board office only if audited and /or requested" You better have copies of certificates in your hands just in case if they request for it.
Well, its still better to contact the NM BON for best assurance, because we never know. If you can contact them in any way possible that would be better:redpinkhe:cool: and much better if they can provide you the best site for CE.
Goodluck!
can anyone help me out? i was about to fax d renewal form to NM BON yesterday by a phone company since i dont have a fax machine, but they couldn't get it sent... they only got a busy tone from the fax number provided in d form. they said they need a 12 digit number but there's only 10 digits including the AREA CODE of NM. they tried adding 00 preceding the 10 number but it still didn't work.
I'm from Philippines, by the way. does any of you who have renewed your license know what numbers exactly i should use? I hope i can get it sent within this week so I'll still have an allowance before my license expires.. just in case something goes wrong with the processing. HELP!
thank you.

just wondering.. how would i know that my license has been renewed already before the expiration date? or that the status of my license is updated online since there's no info in NMBON site as to the expiration of the present status.
just wondering since there's a possiblity that there will be problems with the processing. wouldn't want to assume that it's renewed already but then later on i'll find out that it didn't work and i'll have to pay again for the 200+ renewal with overdue date.
Hmmmm, if you're having problems getting a hold of them via phone, email, and fax, I would send a certified letter with a self addressed stamped envelope and hope that they reply to your questions and they mail it back to you. You did turn in all your requirements correct? Your approved CEU's and anything else they asked for? Did you get confirmation that your paperwork was received?

Keep contacting them. NM is the only one who can answer your question regarding the certificates. I wouldn't risk it because at anytime, they can ask you to provide them with the certificates stating that you did the education units. Some states will accept some certificates and not others. You have to go online and look on the NM BRN website and find out which CEU's they accept, if yours aren't on the list, then find a school on that list that NM will accept. Most BRN's that I've seen have the website for CEUs accepted. Good Luck
