NLN Results....

NLN offers a computer version and a paper version. Some schools allow the computer version and the results are instant.
I had to wait a week for mine to come in the mail, but it was worth it. 98th percentile first try.

thats great! I took it twice. The first time i didnt do so hot, but i didnt study for it and didnt really know what to expect. The second time i made the 89th percentile (my school wants it to be at least 80 so im happy with it.) but if i dont get in this spring i may retake it again.

does anyone go to harper and if so could you please tell me what your composite percentile was for AD. I got above 90% but am still worried I might not get in.

I'll be taking the nln pax-rn test in march 2008 and i was wondering if anybody has great tips on how to study or prepare effectively for all the various sections in the test. I really want to do very well on this test and i'm willing to put all my humanly possible effort in this. Please HELP!

Try to time yorself...they give you only 1hour for each subjekt and it is really not enough time...I was practicing at home and did everithig in time but on the actual test I didn't have enough time to finish...for me the test wasn't hard I just didn't have enough time... i took it Jan12 2008 and got my score of 112...it is probobly not really great but my scool takes 110 and up ....may be I have a little chance :) for now I just prey!!!

mikelee1976, if you got over 90% composite score, then what are you worried about? yes i am going to harper, but didn't you get those nursing packets at that information meeting? it says "the nursing program here is very competetive, normally we only take the top 80-99th percentile!" so first of all i think that they are exaggerating a little bit, and second of all we are both in the 90's. mine's at 93% because i took extra classes that give you points. so i'm not really worried, i don't think you should be either!

Yea I guess I am worrying to much. Its because my GPA wasn't all that great and my verbal for the NLN was under 55%. From what I can remember they only look at NLN scores right? thanks for replying back to some of my posts.

yeah! the overall nln percent for the AD column. as long as you are in "academic good standing" with harper you're fine! they don't look at your gpa for who they let into the program.

i took it last month and posted some questions on this forum so search for my previous post as I don't recall anymore. I waited 3 weeks for my scores, thought I did terrible, know for a fact I missed a lot of q but still got in the 94 score and 134 composite, so they threw a lot out i think. this is a good score i believe, for my adn school. there are ohm electric questions, and just check all the old posts as other people posted info there as well. I used the cream colored study guide, helped but still a lot of q not covered in book that were on test. Geology, circuits, much math division of fractions, decimals . i lost track of time on math, and so did bad in that section, so make sure you dont spend time on each q. GOOD LUCK

Thanks Goldie!! I agree there are alot of questions not covered in the study guide. The math, oh my I have never seen so many fractions on a test. I do remember alot from the verbal, hope I did well on that, but the science Yikes!! I couldn't remember anything!! It was like new wave science. I thought it was very hard. i remember words like raze, Insolent, belligerant I think I got those correct but who knows. This is my second time taking the test. Hope I did better!!

I just got my scores back today. I scored in the 80th percentiile on all three areas, with a compostie of 114. Its not as high as everyone else's but I'm sooo excited. That's more than enough to get into the school I wanted. YAY!!
