Hi everyone! I'm currently in the process of applying to NJCU's accelerated nursing program. Any current students or alumni have advice?

Anyone else out there applying to NJCU? Or any other accelerated programs in the NY/NJ area?

Hi all- patiently waiting to hear back for wall program. Originally said 2-3 weeks, then 4-6 and now 6-8. The wait is killing me!!! Do they let you know either way? Like acceptance letter and rejection letter? Thanks :)

Recently submitted my application for Jersey City. It seems they extended the application deadline. Hopefully we get to hear from them soon.

Where is it that the deadline was extended? On CAS it was listed as 2/15 but on the NJCU site it was 2/28. I called and spoke to a woman who seemed to be in charge of the admissions for the ABSN program and she said she had set it up that way intentionally to give applicants some flexibility, as she put it a soft deadline of 2/15 and a hard deadline of 2/28. Have those dates changed?

My application has already been submitted so it doesn't affect me, but I don't want to have to wait longer to hear a decision! From reading the forums and talking to people, I had been under the impression that NJCU made decisions fairly quickly ( within a month or so from application deadline). I assume a deadline extension would mean a decision extension. I have also applied to Caldwell which notifies applicants by May 1, but I was hoping to know sooner, NJCU is my first choice. Patience is not one of my strengths ;-).

It's great we have a live testimonial from you. I too have a GPA less than 3.0 and scored an 83% on my HESI. Do they look at each section on the HESI or the cumulative grade? I have been in the medical field and working in the hospital for five years. I hope this helps my overall profile. Do you happen to know when we should get a final decision from the nursing program?

Applied to wall campus- have not heard back yet. This upcoming Friday would be 6 weeks and the last email I received said 6-8 weeks wait time for decision.

Has anyone been accepted into the program if they did not receive a 80 on the HESI but had an overall good gpa, good grades etc

It was an email sent only for the wall cohort. What cohort did you apply for?

Wall also, are you talking about the one regarding the hesi scores ?

One of them, yes but I also said stuff about how long it'll take.

The review process generally takes approximately 6-8 weeks from the deadline (Wall is 1/20/17 and JC is 2/28/17). Once admission decisions have been finalized, applicants will be notified of their status by email through NursingCAS.

Anyone else applying to the jersey city campus still have their transcripts pending? Mine said it was delivered the 17th of February but its still pending
