NJCU ABSN 2017

Hi everyone! I'm currently in the process of applying to NJCU's accelerated nursing program. Any current students or alumni have advice?

Anyone else out there applying to NJCU? Or any other accelerated programs in the NY/NJ area?

Did people applying to Jersey City campus get an email from them? Only email I got was from nursingcas saying all my coursework was verified but nothing after that.

Wall should find out by Friday! That will be 8 weeks since the deadline. Been a loooooong 8 weeks haha

I got an email saying my application was given to a board member for review about a week or 2 after I applied (email was directly from NJCU)

I am a current student at the NJCU Wall ABSN program. Only a few more weeks until we

are done!

A few general comments - about 1/3 of the class has had health care experience prior to entering the program. Its a fairly intense program and you will have to teach yourself quite a bit. There are definitely times when you are tested on topics and information that havent been taught in class. The clinicals can be anywhere from New Brunswick to Toms River.

Let me know what else you might want to know.

Hey V8808,

For the NJCU wall program that starts in May - do the nursing courses follow the typical NJCU semester dates? On their website it says the semester is:

Summer Session I classes begin Tuesday, May 30, 2017 8:00 am

Summer Session I ends Monday, July 3, 2017

Summer Session II classes begin Monday, July 10, 2017 8:00 am

Summer Session II ends Thursday, August 10, 2017

So is it safe to assume classes run from May 30-August 10th. Then there is a few week break before fall semester?
