So I may be a bit early, considering the 2017 class is just now getting their acceptance letters for this coming Fall. But since late last year, I've been preparing to apply to the NJCU ABSN Jersey City cohort that will begin in 2018. I wasn't able to apply to the 2017 cohort as my prerequisites were not finished in time. I figured others may be in the same boat, so I figured why not get the conversation going. The application will open in October, and that's creeping up quickly, as it always does.
Therefore, I'd like to start this forum to discuss any questions or concerns we might have. I'm attending the info seminar next Wednesday, 3/29 at 5 PM - anyone else going? Some of my concerns are financial aid, specifically how much non-need based aid is available as many of us may not qualify for need-based aid if we work full time now. I currently work in Financial Aid, so if you have any questions about that, I'd be happy to give any info I have. I'm also curious about credit requirements for prereqs - I can't seem to find specific numbers (e.g. how many A&P credits do we need).
Overall, I hope to connect with others who are interested in applying to start in 2018, Jersey City and Wall - please share your thoughts, and I look forward to speaking with you!
Has anyone who applied to Jersey City heard back yet? Did Wall have the same 2/28 application deadline or was Iï¸ just imagining that it was earlier? I'm so nervous, Iï¸ forgot to include one class on NursingCAS and they undelivered my application to NJCU. I'm hoping it's not a huge problem, since I submitted it before the due date but it took more than 3 weeks for them to let me know, and I just resubmitted it over the weekend. Curious about what's happening with the Jersey City applications now.
hey tinyspoons Wall campus deadline was Jan 28 and Jersey City was Feb 28. Jersey city applicants should hear back more towards ending of April since they said 6-8 weeks. We have a ways to go lol. Good luck

I also applied for 2018 Jersey City cohort. I read that some people received emails in regards to the turn around period. I am worried that I have not received such email. Did everyone who applied for the JC program receive an email in regards to their application?

I received an email labeled "New Jersey City University Acceptance Letter - Accelerated BSN, Wall Campus" at 10pm on a Friday night.
How did your application status (under the check status tab) on the NursingCAS website change throughout the process? Mine doesn't have a check mark next to the check status tab. When I actually go in to the Check Status tab, under the application status it says verified and under evaluations it says complete. I contacted Nursing CAS before the Feb 28th deadline and they said my application was complete. I'm worried that there is something wrong though. Thank you in advance!
You have what is considered a fully complete application since the application status is supposed to say Verified and evaluations are supposed to be Complete. If you mean that the checkmark next to Check Status is grayed out, I think it's supposed to stay grayed out.
