NJ Nurse Licensure by Endorsement (Reciprocity)

Published

Recent Changes on New Jersey Nursing Licensure by Endorsement (Reciprocity) Requirements for nurses that had their nursing education outside USA:

All applicants must apply and submit CGFNS' Credentials Evaluation Service Professional Report ( Credentials Evaluation Service Professional Report® | CGFNS International | Global Credibility) . Per NJ BON, this is to ensure that applicants' nursing education from other country match the standards of nursing education in NJ.

This changes took effect last April of 2015.

We questioned the NJ Board of Nursing why this changes is not reflected on the Application Packet. The answer that we got is that they send mails instructing applicants to submit CGFNS CES Professional report.

Again, above requirement applies to nurses that hold active RN License from other states but had nursing education outside the United States of America.

This means that after you pass the NCLEX and got you RN license from New York and you wanted to be licensed in NJ, you have to apply and submit CES Professional report from CGFNS to NJ BON. CES cost around $350. CES is different from CGFNS' CVS that was submitted to NY Board of education.

Hi Ohwey, BSN, RN, EMT-B , Thank you so much for the information.I was searching for the updates regarding New Jersey Rn endorsement. Yes they will mail us all the documents like marriage certificate(if ever you changed your name), education details, CGFNS, SSN no. , Fingerprint etc,..

Can you tell me how long it takes to get your license from NJBON?

NJ averages 6-8 weeks as once complete all applications must be reviewed by board committee.

Hi I'm RN license in Florida and I apply for endorsement in nj I'm educated in the Philippines, in Florida they ask us to use Joseph silny and associates to evaluate our credentials it's also course by course it's like cgfns, before I got my finger print appointment for nj, nj mail me that I forgot to send my marriage certificate they did not ask about CES, now I'm done with my finger print, license verification from Florida is done, it's been a month since I started my application and I check their license verification it says their that my license is pending, what does it mean? So if they need me to send the CES report why they didn't include it the mail that they sent me asking for my marriage certificate? So what to do now? Do I need to apply for CES? But how about the Filipino nurses whose license in California they dont use cgfns and then if their endorsing in nj they need to do CES? I'm so confuse!

Hi I called NJBON today they told me that my application is waiting for board approval, so do I still need to do the CES, coz I'm thinking to do it now so if they need it it will be there, please help me! Thank u! For the people who did the endorsement in NJ and a graduate from the Philippines, I wanna know if nj Bon ask about your CES

I want NJ license as well and I went to the same process in Florida

I'm an international educated RN from Venezuela, please let me know if you get the license

I did use ERES and it was great cause in the past I tried to use cgfns for NY and everything was a problem! It is very complicated with them! ERES was really fast and they work just great

Yup I used Joseph silny and associates they are fast! Then I took my nclex by the grace of God I pass and have a Florida license, I don't mind if they ask me to send a copy of Joseph silny and associates evaluation it's the same it's also course by course, and I will not spend $350 extra, Joseph silny & associates is recognized in other BON
