Failed my nclex twice and im very dipressed. Help.
Try to do this... 1- do simple nursing with Michel linares it will be very helpful to you 2- do Kaplan but do it completely as they say, videos, ebooks, and the q bank! 3- buy NCLEX mastery app! It is just 29 I think and is great And 4- buy U world that will allow you to study with the app and with the desktop! It is very good You will spent some money almost 1k but it will be worth it My advice practice practice practice and don't schedule the exam until you do 1 question in 90 seconds that means 1Q/ min and half ( Kaplan stile Qs) and you need to feel prepare And every single thing that you don't understand look it up on YouTube! that helped me You will do it!!! You got this !!! Good luck

Is travel nursing right for me?
@lajollalove I work a full time in Florida and is easier than what you think after you get your full time schedule ahead you can tell your others nurse managers ( of course you have to build a network first so they can get to know you) My chief give us the schedules two months ahead after this I let my others Chiefs know my schedule and they offer me deferents days and I just have to accept or just say "I can't "( I usually have time to look for plane tickets fares ahead of time) then I go there for a day or two and that allow me to make more money! Is not that difficult to do, but you definitely will need an agenda. And if you work 3/12 you can take five or six days of work in one week and then go and travel to another state and take some hours! Let's say you go to CA for 3/10 shift the hour range in CA in a PRN is 85$ to 105$ an hour so in three days you can make 3k ,the ticket is around 300$ and after a while you accumulate points and sometimes the plane ticket is cheaper, of course you need a place to stay there, that's why you have to make your network, or find out rooms that are for three days to rent not hotels I have a friend that does the same he has a full time position in NJ and he travel to San Francisco Every week! He make more money! Cause NJ pays a lot more than FL, I want to get the NJ license as well. it is very possible to do this for a while but you have to start traveling with an agency first In order to start doing this So go ahead and take that position and don't think in anything else, you will learn a lot traveling I hope this information make a little bit easier your decision Merry Christmas!

2016 Salary thread
Florida RN 9 years of experience OR & cath lab OR 33.65 base salary, full benefits 140$/m out of network benefits family Evening differential + 3.25 Night differential + 5.25 Weekend day +7.20 Weekend nights + 9.20 On call ( all the rates said + 10%) PRN in another hospital in the cath lab 38.35 /hr no benefits plus shift night and on call differential (almost the same ) Cost of living depends of the area! Near the beach more expensive than far away from the beach I live in a 2/2 apt beautiful in the city of Aventura close to the beach, the building is like a resort and has an spa, restaurants, sauna, fitness center, tennis courts, basketball court, golf field acces, valet parking and I pay 2000 in rent with water and basic cable included, electricity 160$ monthly and an extra 80$ for upgrade cable Pet fee is 50$ extra monthly Gas is expensive, and traffic is heavy! But the beaches are great No complaints! But I'm shocked with pay in CA Bay Area

Is travel nursing right for me?
The best thing to do is to work full time 3 days in a hospital that you love and take a PRN in a higher payer state like NY, NJ, Hawaii or California That's what I do and it work just great cause they can pay you like 90$ an hour! And if you do it great the director is gonna call you all the time.. That way you can stay to live in an area that you love and still travel and make good $$ when ever you want it! But if you want to travel go ahead and do it! Don't say no to your dream for somebody that doesn't share your dreams or just doesn't care about what you want! Not a guy not a girl deserve that! Fist you second you and third you!!! Good luck

Concealed Carry for Caregivers
Ok that's why things happens ! Cause if I'm in a theater in two or three guys come in shooting innocent people and I'm the only one with a CC 9 rounds gun that is somehow negative but what happen if ten or twelve people have CC 9 rounds pistols? In deferents positions? I think the chances of survival are better than no having any gun ! We need to understand that there's bad people out the and I rather to be prepare to defend my family if some idiot believes that they are soldiers of God and they need to punish innocent people Think if you are in the ER and you chose not have hand gloves cause some pt are allergic to latex and an emergency arrives and you are there with your bare hands to try to stop an hemorrhage! I don't know you but I rather have a pair of gloves in my pocket ! Be prepare doesn't mean that I want to be a hero, and neither a victim Advice.... For today's world be prepare ! Period

Concealed Carry for Caregivers
🤖 bs! I use to had a gun and I avoid to be car hijacked and I will tell you that is not easy to shoot to a real human being instead of regular targets for practice! But believe me it gives you a sensation of safe like nothing else, and I'm planning to have a cc here in the states but I don't think I will bring it to work! Cause the danger of carrying is that gives you the chance to use it and in hospital setting I would rather not to use it Cc are protection and I vote for this and I will rather to have a gun in a crazy situation where somebody else is shooting innocent people specially if my family is around A gun is better than paper or just nothing But every mind is a different world

I have two job offers and big question
Yeah I was thinking in that! :/ And if I take one part time that could work right ? The thing is that the cath lab director probably won't like the fact that I'm going to reject the full time position Thank you for that insight I think I'm taking OR full time and reject cath lab even though I like it Thank you so much for your answers

I have two job offers and big question
Hello you all I have two job offers one in the OR and the other in the Cath lab, I love the units equally and have experience as well, the are offering me the same amount of money. My question is can I take both? Can I negotiate to do the induction of one first and then the other one? Can I have two full time jobs? Someone with a similar experience or situation? Please share with me a good advice cause I'm very doubtful and I need to start in January please please
