Nipissing SPP 2021 Applicants

In the spirit of the last two years applicant posts (which I found super helpful):

Hello all! I’ve applied to Nipissing's Scholar Practitioner Program for Fall 2021. I’m super excited/anxious about it and would love to connect with other students who have applied.

How’s everything been going through your application process?

Hello! I’ve applied there as well! Really hoping to get in!

How are you feeling about it? I’m honestly super nervous about my GPA and Casper results.

Nervous yes! I was counting on the chance to submit a reference and personal statement. Feeling anxious since they dropped those admission requirements. Worse since I read this article https://www.Google.ca/amp/s/beta.ctvnews.ca/local/toronto/2021/2/8/1_5300857.html

The Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) says that in January, the total number of nursing applications submitted reached 22,533. That’s a 17.5 per cent increase over the year before.

But-Absolutely nothing we can do about that. I guess best action is to try to stay positive.

Did you apply to more than one program? I had applied to York second entry, but I really like Nipissing SPP. My friend graduated from the same program a couple years ago and she had an amazing experience.

Anyway, hopefully we hear back soon with acceptances! ?

Yeah, I saw that too ? but I think this might be for the direct entry nursing applications.

I applied to York and Trent as well, but Nipissing is my first choice!!

Hopefully they start sending out decisions soon.

Hey everyone! Glad to see this post ?

I applied to UofT, Nipissing, and McMaster. I took the CASPer test in January and I'm currently taking AP BIOL 235 with Athabasca.

I was just rereading last year's posts and I think results were sent out starting mid-March. I'm a bit nervous since I don't have the best GPA and I'm still taking AP with 2 jobs.

In case you haven't seen yet, I started this thread too:

Wish us all the best! ?

Hi everyone! I just found this forum! I applied to Nipissing, York and UofT but I really am hoping for the the SPP program.

When I figured out they dropped everything including the references and personal statements I was so disappointed, I feel like its just a ranking competition now.

I am most worried about how I did on my casper test especially since its something wee will never figure out!

Hoping for the best for all of us and next year we can all be together haha!

I keep thinking were going to hear back so soon in the next few weeks

So fun fact, Nipissing SPP actually opened up more spots for this year, and from what I have overheard, our program saw a decrease in applications - I think this is from being in a COVID hotspot. Good luck everyone, hope to see you all in September!

I actually heard they have the 2021 cohort chosen already and are just waiting to send out acceptances which is so nerve wracking

OMG really?? That’s kinda stressful because my casper results still aren’t showing as submitted, even though they’ve been delivered :(( I emailed them and they said not to worry, but if they’ve already chosen the cohort then that’s a little worrisome

I think they may have received it but not updated everything online! Hopefully it’s all good news for us and we hear back soon. We will know in about 2 weeks for sure ?

I’m super anxious to hear back as well. Hopefully it’s sooner rather than later!

Hmm.. they’ve already chosen the applicants? My application status says “no decision yet” and that was updated back in January... I’m not sure if that’s good or bad ?

Maybe my best option is to ban myself from googling and checking for a few weeks. LOL

They haven’t sent out acceptances yet but I heard they chose their applicants if that makes sense? Again that’s just what I’ve heard not 100% sure on how true it is
