For those of you who work in the valley NICU's, I have a couple of questions.

1) Does anyone use statlocks on their PIV sites? If so, what do you think of them?

2) How often do you change your TPN/lipid tubing?

Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

TPN/IL tubing change q24hrs, on afternoons

Can you please direct me to where you found the evidence based research showing that TPN/lipids do not have to be changed every 24 hours?

TPN/IL are changed every 24hrs. Clear liquids every 72hrs. There was only one hospital that I have been to that uses stat lock.I didnt like using them, I thought we were losing iv's just as much with the statlock and the point of using them was to make the iv last longer.
