NHSC Loan Repayment 2023 Cycle

Published

I haven't seen a forum for this year's cycle of NHSC LRP so I decided to start one. I am getting anxious. By this time last year alot of people had seen credit checks and some had received COIs. Has anyone heard anything?

Today I received the email to accept my award. This was just 2 days after receiving the second signature. Hopefully you all will be accepting yours shortly.

So happy for you all! does anyone know if we don't get it, do they said "application denied" or "information missing" or something? Any reasoning as to not getting it? I am starting to think I didn't put the extra loan report information on there that is required. Not sure how I overlooked this. I was looking all all the requirements late last night ?

I sent my RN license and not my CRNP license so I had messed up my application, but I got my congratulations email yesterday. I know some people said that they had received emails to send more information, so they will reach out if they need something more.

Congrats to everyone who got accepted! I got my "sorry, too many qualified candidates" email today, but I'll just try again next cycle. I'm just happy this program exists in the first place!

Has anyone that was notified early received payment?  I know they say 90 days. On the forum for the nurse corp program,  some have received payment and were notified in September.  Wondering how this program is going so far?

Not I. I actually reached out to my student loan servicer and told them I was awarded the money but would t get it until December and they let me do a forbearance until January. Hopefully I'll have the money by then to start paying them.

Has anyone with contract date July 30th or later received disbursement yet? My 90 days would be up on October 30th but I reached out at the end of September and they told me funds would likely be disbursed in early November.

Did they say why November? My contract date is July 21 and 90 days is October 19th but I haven't gotten funds yet either.

They didn't say. When I inquired, this was the reply I received: Good afternoon. Thank you for your inquiry. Electronic disbursement of your lump sum award will likely be transmitted in early November 2023. If you do not receive your disbursement, please contact the Customer Care Center at 1-800-221-9393, Monday through Friday (except federal holidays), from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET.

I called them about two days ago and she told me I should have it by October 19th which is my 90 days. It's making me nervous because from previous forums it seems as though some people were getting it before their 90 days

Ugh. I was really hoping it wouldn't take the full 90 days. Can you update here when you receive yours and I'll do the same?
