Newman University 2019 Applicants

Nursing Students SRNA

Updated:   Published

I'm trying to see who else is applying to Newman University's program this cycle since I haven't seen a thread yet. How's it going? I am nervous! ? I've heard they are competitive and the interview is tough.

Additionally, if you have been to their interview, what was it like for you? Thanks in advance!

I’m no help since I’m from out of town too but good luck traveling! And oh my goodness I have so much anxiety over this interview. I am just ready for it to be over!

I chose it based on price and the length of the program. It also was one of the few schools that still were accepting applications for the upcoming 2020 class. Pretty much it met several of my criteria for a CRNA school. How about you guys why Newman?

I’m from Oklahoma so I chose Newman for the possibility that I might get one of the Oklahoma City clinical spots.

Do you work in OKC? I used to work there!

PS did you hear about Univ of Tulsa opening up applications for their program this year?

I’m not in OKC but that’d be the closest clinical location to me! And I did hear about Tulsa...hopefully they’ll get their accreditation soon! I’m definitely keeping that in mind as plan B or C but really hoping I won’t need it! I’ve also heard there’s another school that has Tulsa as a distant clinical site...I think maybe a Utah school?? I can’t recall.

Thank you! I checked earlier this month & it wasn’t open yet. That’s really exciting! I guess I’ll start working on that this weekend after I get past my Newman interview. Are you applying to TU as well? Thanks again for the heads up, I would have been disappointed if I’d missed the opening since its a relatively small window!

There is a 2016 Tulsa thread that has been added to recently with a link and more program information ? I think it will be a really good program. The director has experience from another school, which I think will help. I would have applied if they had it up and running a month sooner!

Good luck to everyone interviewing this weekend!

How did everyone feel after interviewing today? ?

Not good. I knew it would be bad but that was so much worse than I imagined. I’d love to know if anyone felt confident walking out of there! How about you?

Also, do you recall what they said about a timeframe? I remember the $1500 part and how we would have 2 weeks to make our decision but I can’t remember when she said we’d hear back from them. My head was a mess at that point & I was trying to pay attention but it was just not sinking in at all!
