Newman University 2019 Applicants

Nursing Students SRNA

Updated:   Published

I'm trying to see who else is applying to Newman University's program this cycle since I haven't seen a thread yet. How's it going? I am nervous! ? I've heard they are competitive and the interview is tough.

Additionally, if you have been to their interview, what was it like for you? Thanks in advance!

Thanks!

Oh wow I thought my day was the last day. I guess they're extending past the weekend. That makes me think they may be interviewing a good amount of people.

Mine is the 25th!

Mine is 26th. Have any of you applied to CRNA school before? This is my first time. Also are any of you out of state?

They're interviewing on Saturday and Sunday? Interesting. I'm out of state, in Oklahoma.

Specializes in MICU/SICU.

Hi! This is my first year applying to schools. I’m an Oklahoma native, recently moved to Georgia for my husbands job. How about you?

I thought it was strange too!! I’m from OK ☺️

I’m from out of town as well, Vegas specifically. When I spoke to the administrative assistant she said they scheduled all the out of town people on Sunday to hopefully accommodate easier travel.

I’m from out of state too. I thought Saturday was an odd interview day but am thankful for it!

Is everyone just reading CCRN material to study for the interview? Hard to know where to focus/what to review because they could as a million different questions. Also- does anyone know how long the interview lasts? I haven't heard much about their process?

I’m looking over CCRN material too but honestly have no idea if that’s the best plan or not. I feel like there’s no way to feel prepared. I’m not sure if past applicants purposely stay tight lipped or whether the interviews are so traumatic they've blocked them out ?

I’ve believe interviews last about 30 minutes.

I’m studying CCRN, my commonly given meds (pressers, sedation, ACLS, etc) and patient pathophys for my specialty. I heard in the past you can kind of lead the interview based on your responses. They’ll keep asking “why or what is that” until you don’t know. They want to know how you handle questions you may not know the answer too. I’m also praying and doing breathing exercises. ?

I am so nervous about flying into Wichita. Trying to find some cool things to do Saturday to keep my mind off of the interview. Has anyone been to Wichita or know any cool things to do there? I am from South Carolina so I am curious to see what actual cold feels like.

Specializes in Labor and delivery, ICU.

Wow! What made you pick Newman all the way from South Carolina?
