Newly licensed Nurse trying to find a Job!

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone out there had any suggestions about where to apply for a new graduate. I have been licensed in IL since the beginning Sept. and applying every day with no luck. I know it is tough out there for everyone esp. new grads but does anyone know of a facility that is willing to hire a new graduate? I would rather not work at a SNF but if thats the only place I can get experience to eventually get a position in a hospital then so be it. At this point I'm willing to consider anything; it's the most frustrating thing to send out so many applications with NO response in return.

Thank you in advance for any and all responses.

Try around Quincy.

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

Here's a link to a hospital in Peoria - employment open house this weekend:

thank you!!!!!

Try checking the grammar/format on your resume. Maybe it's an issue with your application, not the fact that you're a new grad.

Specializes in Cardiac Telemetry/Stepdown & CVICU.

st johns in springfield, illinois is hiring on their neuro unit. I interviewed there but turned it down.

Specializes in PACU, pre/postoperative, ortho.

If you live near the statelines, check nearby too. Terre Haute, Vincennes, Evansville, IN all seem to regularly have listings. Had interviews in those areas, but luckily also landed a job closer to home.
