New York University (NYU) ABSN Fall 2023

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone!
I haven't seen a forum for NYU's Fall 2023 ABSN program, and decided to start one. Please feel free to add any information related to the program, application process, any tips, stats, words of encouragement for those accepted into the program, etc. All the best to everyone. I hope everyone's new year is off to an amazing start! ?

If you applied for the non accelerated program, they will not allow you to Take the class before the start of the fall semester. I called and email someone and they told me it was not possible. I have developmental psychology to take and I have no choice but to take it at NYU in the fall and then progress into the nursing program.

hey @Shiv530 do you know if you were accepted to the non-accelerated program? I am missing nutrition which am planning to take at NYU, but I am still waiting on the decision...should I shoot an email to them?

Hi @Samanthawright I was accepted into the non-accelerated program. You can give them a call to see when you would receive a decision

Hi all,

I already have a bachelors and applied for the ABSN to NYU. They reached out saying I was just missing one additional requirement but as long as I am registered and it shows in progress in the Summer accelerated session I show be OK. Does anyone know if I can still get an acceptance with that one pending item in progress?

has anyone heard today?

Hello!!

I've been following this page for awhile but didn't want to comment because I applied as a traditional transfer and still waiting for a decision, but I wanted to ask if anyone who was accepted were able to see their cost of attendance in Albert before they got their acceptance email .

  1. Hey everyone.

I won't be attending NYU, So if someone on their waiting list, You might hear back:). Good luck everyone. I don't get any Financial Aid, and the cost 120K is not affordable for me:(.

Hey, that was the case for me as well. I got into both Pace and NYU. May I ask which school you're choosing and why?

So I got into NYU, PACE, WAGNER. I declined PACE since it is only 11 months. I paid my deposit for WAGNER, since I wasnt sure if  I would get into NYU.

I am still debating  if I should choose NYU or Wagner. I would be very happy to get some advice on this.

As an International student, I don't get any financial aid. So NYU is 120K vs Wagner is 80k.

Commute to Wagner is only 15-20 minutes by car VS NYU is 1.5 hours maybe longer.

I have until this Monday to let NYU know regarding

Hi! I was in a similar boat as you. I put down my deposit for The University of Rochester since I wasn't sure if I was going to get into NYU. I declined NYU earlier this morning and decided to stick with UofR since they gave me more aid and UofR is still a really good school. Everyone on my unit at the hospital I work at all say to pick the school that's cheaper since at the end of the day, no one's going to care that you went to a certain school. You're still going to be a nurse!

I really wanted to go to NYU because of the exposure and connections I'd be able to make but their tuition was a little bit too much. It was about twice the amount of what I would be paying at UofR. It hurt to turn down a school I really wanted to attend but for the long run, UofR would be best for me. I'm not sure if this'll help but it was just my experience!

Feel free to email me at [email protected] with more questions about this! I can let you know what NYU said when I asked for more financial help LOL

For everyone who got accepted, or even waitlisted, congrats! Unfortunately, I got my rejection today, so I will be applying for fall24 since thats the earliest I can apply. Im not sure if this means they are officially starting to distribute rejections, or if mine was just really bad when they came across it LOL.

For those confused about the acceptance timeline process, I called today trying to ask some questions and got a little bit of clarification. I asked if it matters how early you apply, or just as long as it's before the priority deadline. I was told it dosent matter (as long as you submit before the priority deadline) because all the applications are reviewed at the same time, it's just based on ranking. IDK how this applies to applications submitted after the priority deadline..

So I guess it's safe to assume that a person who applied in March and got an acceptance sooner than the person who applied last Sep, is at a higher rank according to nyu's standard among the applicant pool. And if people defer, or reject, or don't pay the deposit, they go down the ranks and pick the next person?

Would you consider other schools? I believe there are other schools with ABSN programs with a FALL 2023 start date. Still time to apply . Is the rejection letter an email or on Albert?

I think you can only apply for one application cycle a year?. When I called and asked they said I couldn't apply for Spring24 but I could apply for Fall24 when they open in Aug.

I would consider other schools but I don't think there are any more in the NYC area or ones I have credentials for?? But it's fine! Any suggestions are welcome though.

I got the rejection via email saying that there was a decision available. I did check Albert first and saw nothing so that was a clue I wasn't accepted. I checked earlier in the day and saw my checklist was gone so I knew a decision was coming today.
