New York University (NYU) ABSN Fall 2023

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone!
I haven't seen a forum for NYU's Fall 2023 ABSN program, and decided to start one. Please feel free to add any information related to the program, application process, any tips, stats, words of encouragement for those accepted into the program, etc. All the best to everyone. I hope everyone's new year is off to an amazing start! ?

On the website it stated Online and community colleges are acceptable for prerequisite courses, as long as it is an accredited institution. So I think I will sign up for the class.

Great, if you still have access to the portal, maybe update your prerequisites and add the course just add IP for the grade.

How do I do this?

It's the same site where you added your pre reqs, click the pre reqs tab and add a course .

Specializes in Nursing Assistant.

Which ones? I am only missing Microbiology and was wondering if I could take it on portage learning. I was waiting to ask an advisor.

If you applied for the non accelerated program, they will not allow you to Take the class before the start of the fall semester. I called and email someone and they told me it was not possible. I have developmental psychology to take and I have no choice but to take it at NYU in the fall and then progress into the nursing program.

Interesting , I'm not familiar with the non accelerated. The advice was for the ABSN @rninthefuture

They do accept micro from portage learning! I took micro and human development on portage learning

I got into NYU and the University of Rochester and was wondering if anyone would be able to give me some insight about which university I should choose? I'm conflicted since NYU is such a good school but UofR gave me more aid. I just don't want to have any regrets!

I applied as second degree transfer because I was not sure that I would be accepted. I just found out about portage learning from an alumni which is why I am interested in doing it over the Summer.

Go for it. Good luck with everything!

Thank you! They told me that because I applied as a second degree transfer and not accelerated. I have to take the one class at NYU.

You were correct. I am just stressed because of the tuition for one class.

I would say go for NYU , at the end of the day we would all have to sacrifice for that billion dollar tuition. I am choosing NYU due to the exposure I will receive, NYU has tons of clinics, and a huge hospital, all close to the school. So the exposure and experience is guaranteed, sooner than you know.. you will graduate and your salary will allow you to pay off your debt. Of course, do what works for you. Just my sane advice LOL
