Hi everyone!
I haven't seen a forum for NYU's Fall 2023 ABSN program, and decided to start one. Please feel free to add any information related to the program, application process, any tips, stats, words of encouragement for those accepted into the program, etc. All the best to everyone. I hope everyone's new year is off to an amazing start! ?

I feel like I've also seen folks on past allnurses boards who have applied after receiving rejections in the last cycle, but maybe I'm wrong.
Hmm, I will definitely double-check on that next time I call and lyk! It would be great if I didn't have to wait another year.

Im not sure if this means they are officially starting to distribute rejections, or if mine was just really bad when they came across it LOL.
For those confused about the acceptance timeline process, I called today trying to ask some questions and got a little bit of clarification. I asked if it matters how early you apply, or just as long as it's before the priority deadline. I was told it dosent matter (as long as you submit before the priority deadline) because all the applications are reviewed at the same time, it's just based on ranking. IDK how this applies to applications submitted after the priority deadline..
So I guess it's safe to assume that a person who applied in March and got an acceptance sooner than the person who applied last Sep, is at a higher rank according to nyu's standard among the applicant pool. And if people defer, or reject, or don't pay the deposit, they go down the ranks and pick the next person?
I think when you call NYU admissions you need to ask multiple people the same questions because it's always a different answer.
I've been waiting to hear back since applying priority in February and I called asking for more clarification about the ranking system and they said they don't rank applicants. They said the applications are reviewed by a committee due to the competitiveness of the school.
This isn't the first time I've heard conflicting things about classes or admissions processes from NYU. It's very frustrating because if you're applying early you should get your decision early. It's almost June they said they stop sending out decisions June 15th but maybe double check on that as well because someone else might say a different date.

Well that's annoying. That's so different from what I was told! But both are believable...Terrible if you choose to believe one answer and then it negatively affects your application. Thanks for your input.
I hope they are still doing acceptances/ waitlisting. Don't just count on my account. I was surprised when I received a rejection so early since they do go up to the second week in June. Hopefully it was just something they didn't like with my application. Still rooting for everyone else and hope to still hear some good news from the rest of you.

same, I applied in February and still haven't heard back either. it's like what's the point of priority if the decisions aren't going to be released in that order. so annoying
