New York Presbyterian/Columbia (NYP Email) New Grad

Published

I got an email yesterday from NYP/Columbia that I am selected as a "top candidate" and can skip the meet and greet and go to an interview with Nurse Leaders in June. Has anyone else received this now or in the past and could provide advice? I know the process is long being hired at such a premier hospital. Just wondering if anyone could give me some insight.

Thank you!

@qyp10 For my interview I met with the nurse manager and a few nurses on the unit. They asked a lot of situational questions that dealt with pts along with the typical why NYP and what makes you stand out among the others type of questions. My interview was about 40 mins along including a tour of the unit.

Good news, I got an offer!! I will be starting late October.

looking forward to meeting you guys!

Congrats on your offer. You are my fellow nursing buddy. :shy:

I hope there is still hope for me. I was so excited back in June when I received word that I was a "top grad" from the interview event. I did interview with AMN/Gotham, but I declined. I hope its not too late to still be accepted by NYP. October orientation is the last one for us?

I'm sure they will still hire in November and December. However, I think starting in January they will start their new grad hiring for those who are attending the January New grad interview day. I say there is still hope.

Thanks!! I won't lose hope just yet..:o

Just wondering, does the PICU at Columbia/Morgan Stanley hire new grads?

Yes, they do. They have two PICUs now and hire new grads for both!

Thank you, that's great to hear!

Hi! has anyone had success dropping off resume at the TAS office?

I'd recommend sending an email to a recruiter whom you've met before (better if you've spoken to them a couple times) and ask for an update. If you don't have their address, try calling HR for it. This is how it led to my interview/offer. Also, of the many times I've called HR only once did someone take the time to go in-depth answering my questions about my status so it may take a couple tries.

Personally, I don't think the resume drop off would be very successful because they already have your file in the system, but if you think it would work then try it?

anyone who has received the benefits package for Columbia, do you know how much they give for tuition reimbursement?
