New York Presbyterian/Columbia (NYP Email) New Grad

Published

I got an email yesterday from NYP/Columbia that I am selected as a "top candidate" and can skip the meet and greet and go to an interview with Nurse Leaders in June. Has anyone else received this now or in the past and could provide advice? I know the process is long being hired at such a premier hospital. Just wondering if anyone could give me some insight.

Thank you!

Did anyone take the pharmacology exam yet?

Jlc128, I'm taking it this week. My friend said its not as bad as it seems.

Jlc128 can you please send me your email again? For some strange reason the PM erased and it's not letting me send out any. Thank you!

Okay good luck Fatim1984! Do you know how many questions it is?

RNMA11 is that really all to it? i'm so weak in pharm and want to pass obviously!!! i'm freaking out!!

Hello!!! I have a question after your interview and an offer what did you status change in regards to nyp's career dashboard. I recently had an interview and it says that my status was changed two days ago however it still stays "interview." Did your change in anyway after the interview and once you got an offer? How long did you wait to hear back after your interview? Thanks!

H1758925, nice on the interview. I wouldn't worry about the change of status on the dashboard. When I view my dashboard it doesn't have the department I was offered a position with. In regards, to how long it takes to get an answer, I interviewed the Monday, and the PCD had picked me the Thursday, however human resources didn't contact me until the following Wednesday. So it can take a few days before you get an answer. Best of luck you got this.

The first department I interviewed with it took 3 weeks to hear back. The second department I interviewed with I found out the next day that I got it! I think it really depends on the PCD and the Recruiter you are working with. I would email HR if I were you, it can't hurt!

For those of you who did hear back in regards getting a call scheduling an interview, how did you get it? Networking , knowing someone, through linked in/social media?I know someone said networking, but theres only so much you can do in your immediate group of friends and people you know. Did you do anything to help your chances or did you just wait? I am getting impatient, I am SO eager to begin my career, and NYP is my number one choice.

Honestly, through working there already and connections. I would be super aggressive about utilizing connections. LinkedIn is probably a good place to start.

I agree with it being about networking. I did a little bit of LinkedIn stalking, which turned into Facebook stalking haha! and then I realized who was mutual friends and reached out for some help. I also followed up with HR a lot just to show that I was really interested.
