I got an email yesterday from NYP/Columbia that I am selected as a "top candidate" and can skip the meet and greet and go to an interview with Nurse Leaders in June. Has anyone else received this now or in the past and could provide advice? I know the process is long being hired at such a premier hospital. Just wondering if anyone could give me some insight.
Thank you!
Hi I'm going into my senior year of nursing school this year and really want to apply for the nyp new grad program when I graduate I was just wondering if those of you who had interviews and or were offered positions have any advice? I have externship and assistant experience but my gpa is only a 3.4 is that too low? What did your guys resumes look like?
A 3.4 with some experience looks better than a 3.9 with no experience, at least in what I was told. I have a 3.3, however, nursing is my second degree and have worked in the health care industry for a few years. Also, I had a student position at the hospital, which helps to push your application along the right path. If you are entering your senior year see if you can obtain some form of employment or volunteering at the hospital something to make you stand out.
