VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

So Grindin, you're saying its really much cheaper just to buy the books online rather than the "package deal" that VEEB offers?

It really depends on how much time you want to spend looking for the books. I spend about 3-4 hours total checking different sites and bidding on a couple of auctions.

Your best bet on getting cheap books is waiting for them to pop up on eBay with low starting bids. I waited too long to get my books and ended up buying most of them new directly from Amazon. Take advantage of the free shipping with a $25+ purchase.

Some books come up for good prices too in the Amazon marketplace and Half.com

Take my word or not but Im pretty sure they tell you all the books are "new" every year, but at the end of the day its the same exact material even if its a different edition. The tests are straight from the notes 99.9% of the time. the books are more for reinforcement.

Also 1 of the books is written by people at VEEB, so who really has your best interests in mind? :chuckle

And yup, with the vaccinations, they basically tell you on so and so date, the med staff will be here after school, it will be added to your bill.

Ok all newbees!!! I will congratulate:bow: all who got accepted into Veebs program but the road ahead is hard, just pace yourself and take good notes. Your books are there as a reference but your notes are your lifeline. I have approx. 6 weeks left and still I cant relax.

NOT looking forward to the test, but still looking forward to Orientation! I just want to start school already! I am really nervous, just about life in general...balancing work, school, life, etc, but I know it will be worth it in the end. I am just one of those people that worries too much about everything. I hope I can manage the stress!
