VEEB LPN Program (info request)

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Thanx b/c i dont want to keep giving them all my money for extra things ya know. And they only do it on when you go for your physical??

Oh and another thing does anyone know where to get the books from online maybe for a little cheaper b/c the books from the school are almost $600.....

Hello

I would like to know the passing grade for Veeb, i understand that in some schools you need a 80 or 85% is it the same at veeb?

Thanks

Somebody sent me a PM, I glanced at my inbox and suddenly had to leave. And now that I want to read it it's not there anymore. So please re-send it or just post it here since it's probably beneficial to the thread.

Now to address the concerns...

1. So VEEB wants 600 for their textbook "package deal" now?

I spent around 275 for all the books except 1 if I remember correctly last year. The 2nd weekend before school started I ordered all my books from either Amazon, Half or Ebay. Abebooks is pretty good too.

2. The drug testing is definitely off site and they don't test during the school year. Related to that though if your blood works show vaccine titers below acceptable ranges, you're probably going to have to pay the school to fix the problem.

3. Passing is 70% at VEEB. All I can say is put your all into each test, so when you do have that day where circumstances prevailed and you didn't do too well, it won't hurt you.

1st semester is very relaxed and moderately paced. 2nd gets very hectic. And don't believe faculty when they say 3rd s about the same as 2nd. I'm almost half-way done through 3rd and its definitely the toughest of all. The pace at which some of the teachers talk is becoming less and less conducive to accurate note-taking.

thanks. But 1 of the teachers said that all the books this year are new and that they're all diff from last year bc someone asked if we could buy them used.

Do they watch you when you take your drug test meaning do they watch you when you "go"? Because that is very uncomfortable

"if your blood works show vaccine titers below acceptable ranges, you're probably going to have to pay the school to fix the problem"

What do you mean by this??

They mail the urine specimen to a lab to be tested. They said it takes a few days for the results and basically you'll only get a call if something isn't right. From my copy of the papers i signed, it states they use Medtox. For the girls, there were a few stalls you could use, you can close the door, just do not flush until you hand in the sample and they tell you to flush. They do test the temperature of the specimen, if that makes any difference for you, and you might be waiting quite a while until you get to give the urine. (And by quite a while, it could be 60 minutes to muuuuuch longer.)

Hope this helps.

ok females and males where using the same bathroom at the same time, i thought it was unprofessional. i waited until it was only females in the line!

So Grindin, you're saying its really much cheaper just to buy the books online rather than the "package deal" that VEEB offers?

Hey NYMOM hows things going?
