I am going into travel nursing, not just for covid crisis response but am I wrong to believe that you can make more money travel versus being a staff nurse. Covid response won't last forever but I have no family and want to do whatever it takes to make more income. any suggestions is appreciated.

You are smart to exploit this situation to better your financial status. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise.
I am sure that when the tables turn, and the hospitals have the upper hand, they will squash you like a bug, if they can.

Go to the travel nursing page and ask them but I've always heard/seen that they make more money. Of course you will go to different hospitals with minimal orientation, so you really have to know your specialty.

Mods should be moving this to the travel nursing forum for you. I found with my travel jobs, that the hourly salary was similar to local salary. Many people think travel nurses make big bucks, but the hospital PAYS big bucks for them... and the agency gets 50 %. I did make out at tax time, for some reason. Traveling income changes your tax obligation. Your housing should be paid, if you go with a good agency. However, if you will still be maintaining a home , that's a wash.
Good luck.

Start by reading other threads in this travel nurse forum. I answered the same basic question yesterday in some depth (but because the question wasn't quite as broad as yours).
