I hope this thread will help Nurses that is seeking for information regarding different trainings in hospital....

so what are you waiting for

Start blogging now my fellow nurses....

any Info will do

.yes i agree too. this thread is kinda helpful. i had read some and i would like to share some of my latest experience in job hunting. yesterday, we went to jose reyes hospital and according to the Lady in the Chief nurse office. (I also assume she is the chief nurse) they dont accept applicants as well as trainees as of this moment. Then, we went to San Lazaro hospital (the environment is pathetic though:))just at the back of the previous hospital and guess what? they are accpting applicants for staff position. go there and get your there form as well as other requirements. according to the Hr, they will screen it and there will be an exam. they will just call (i just hope they will).

then, we head to fabella hospital. they dont accept applicants for staff position but they have a training. (accdg to one of the hr staffs, you nid to undergo their training first before you will get hired) but that is not an assurance also coz u nid to undergo screening and exam again after the training. training is the prerequisite of the staff position chance. 6K for 6mons.

we also went to metropolitan (for me this hospital is superb. the ambiance is good, the temperature is so relaxing it almost made me fall to sleep and the employees... DAMN! so pretty! especially the receptionists. haha) anyway, they are accepting applicants also. and as always, u dont need to call them, because they will call you according to them.

.we went to pgh. i failed to pass one of the reqts for their apcn program and im so ****** off. grrr.. i will not talk something about pgh today because im still depressed due to my ignorance. hehe :p

.the same day, we went also to madocs they're accepting applicants just inquire where is padilla bldg.

.later that day we went to Ospital ng Maynila. (we just walk from lrt quirino to osma because the fare in the "padyak" is tremendous. 50 pesos. haha. and were running out of money) going back to the hospital, well, good news. theyre accepting trainees again. 3 nurses at the nursing service office was so hospitable.^^ but not the ------ anyway, dont ever ever mention the word volunteer. say training instead. according to them, the application files are building again for their training program for 3 mons. yes. 3 mons. before it was 2 mons only. theyre on freeze hiring for staff position.

whew.. i guess your tired enough to read this. im sorry if my grammars are wrong i dont have time to edit or browse this again..

that's it for today, i have visited lots of hospitals already and actually im getting tired of Hospital shopping but its enjoyable though. im dec 2010 board passer and my ojt in a hospital wil start this july or aug. but im still hoping that i can search for a better hospital to start with.

thanks for the infos that you've share colleagues. God bless us all. may we use our license to serve not only ourselves and our families but also those who are really in need.^^

Hi! For those who are planning to take the training program in USTH, there's a very good chance for you to be hired after. You just need to have a good evaluation from your preceptor. Employment however, is only on a contractual basis. 5 months for the initial contract, and if you're going to renew, the next contract would be for 1 year. The waiting time to be employed is long though. From my experience, I had to wait for 5 months before I was hired. The interviews and exams are spread out during my 5 months of waiting so at least you know that your application is having progress. After finishing the 5 month contract, I waited for a month before I was rehired for the 1 year contract. You won't have to take any exam for the 1 year contract, you just need to pass your credentials again but it's a must that you have a good evaluation from your area supervisor. I hope this helps! If any of you want to ask about the training / employment in USTH, feel free to message me. Good Luck! :D

Hi there. I was also trained at USTH for 3mos (Nov-Feb2011). **** from HR txted me on last week of March to take an exam. But until now I haven't got any call from them. 4 of my cotrainees just had their interview this week. Does that mean that they were the only ones who will be hired? Thanks.

Hmm.. try to follow-up regarding your application.. That's what I did before and the HR personnel gave me a date on my interview schedule.. I think the process for that is that you'll take a psych exam first then HR interview, after that I waited for the schedule of the nursing exam (It's quite hard btw, so you better review but your evaluation in your training would weigh more). All in all I had to pass through 5 interviews from HR to the Nursing Directress before I got hired. Good luck to you! :D

Yep.. I paid 5K for the 3-month training.. It's really worth it if you really want to work your way up to your employment there. The downside of that is that you'll be working on a contractual basis and the only thing you'll receiving from them is the salary.

:twocents: Thanks for starting this thread Nurse_Ian. :) Please allow me to add more info here. I hope I could be of help to other fellow nurses, who are experiencing the same sad situation as I do.

1. Fe Del Mundo Medical Center

Passed my resume last Wednesday to the security guard. Turns out he gave it to the HR or Fe Del Mundo Nursing Service Office - Professional Nursing Training Program. I received a message Sunday morning about the sked of my exam the followng day at 7-9AM. No fees to be paid. Wear clinical uniform. However, I missed it. Why? Check entry #2 (I tried to wriggle my way to get a reschedule but my "textmate" from their office said I only have til 1PM today for the exam.:crying2:)

2. Philippine Heart Center

Had my exam today. Same day as that of FDMC. For me, the exam was really difficult. In the afternoon, there was an interview. Php100 for the exam, Php6000 for the 65th Critical Care Course, the last of its kind. (Not sure if that's for this year only) Out of 100+ RNs, they will only get 40 RNs. I hope I had impressed my interviewer but let me tell you, she's one of those "traditional" nurses who are grumpy and grouchy (do these 2 words mean the same thing?:lol2:)

3. Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital

I got called on a Tuesday morning informing me that I will have a qualifying exam on Sept. 14, tomorrow/today, whenever this post gets reviewed and "posted":lol2: Payment of Php100 for the exam.

That's all I know so far. Like Nurse_Ian, I will try to keep everyone updated. God bless! :yeah:

Hello sugarplum18RN! :)

May I know what sort of questions were asked for the interview at the Phil. Heart Center? Was it a technical interview or a tell-me-about-yourself kind of thing?

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences. It's a lot of help to us new RNs. =)

hi every one i was schedule for an exam as a nurse trainee in QCGH this june, any one here who has the same situation as mine?hehe do you guys know the type of exam and coverage....pls help thank you so much :>

hi.. thanks for the post.. please can you give some points to review for the exam in Philippine Heart Center critical care course. i'll be having my exam on June 1 and i don't know where to start my review since i've been out in the nursing profession for more than a year. thanks a lot sugarplum18RN :)
