Hi I'm a new RN grad from Arizona. I'm moving to Miami in a couple of months. Can anyone tell me the starting pay for most hospitals for a new grad RN? They pay $25 dollars an hour here in Phoenix, AZ. Also, Any suggestions on which hospital to apply?

I do not know of what hospital you went to..... but NO-ONE pays $23/hr
I went on several interviews... and the highest one was where I work at Miami CHildren's Hospital that they pay $22.53/hr
Kendall regional $22/hr
baptist $21.60/hr
coral gables hospital $21.50/hr
if you go to memorial regional hospital (broward county)they start at $24/hr!!!! and so does jackson memorial regional hospital (miami-dade county)!!!!
YESSS THEY DO PAY $24/HR SPECIALLY MEMORIAL REGI0NAL HOSPITAL IN HOLLYWOOD, FL WITH SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL OF $2-3 FOR WEEKENDS AND $3-5 FOR NIGHTS!!!
you need to make an interview appointment with them, plus their benefits are really awesome!
Thank you so much. I will keep memorial regional in mind I don't plan on moving until april.

Thanks everyone for the input this is an informative thread.
Narcan or anyone else that knows, how does the overtime work at those hospitals? Do you get overtime after 8 hr days, as in the last 4 hrs of a 12 shift or is it only after 40? I am pretty sure they get time and a half after 8hr days here in Washington state and I think its the same in California.
Thanks

For those moving to Miami from another city, please remember too that in this area, $21 or even $24 doesn't stretch as far as it does in other areas in FL or the rest of the country.
I live here now, and rent is EXPENSIVE compared to other cities. Starting pay in Madison, WI where i'm from (2 hours from chicago) is closer to $25-$27 base pay (w/o shift differentials) and cost of living (esp housing for renters and homeowners) is MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper.
I could never afford to own a home in Miami....even on a nurse's salary. That's why I plan to move as soon as I can after graduation...hopefully immediately, if my wife can get a good job where we plan to relocate.

Nope, in Florida there is no "blended rate" as it is called in Cali.

The Miami VA will start ASN grads wo zero experiance at $25.00 plus a sign on bonus. That's the lowest they start you at. You can make more with LPN experience or a BSN. The VA may be the only place that seriously takes into consideration the level of the degree you obtained (ASN vs. BSN).

It takes a strong person to work at a VA hospital. I don't think a dollar or 2 difference will make me work at a VA hospital!
