New NCLEX Format

Published

So, I just wanted to share with everyone so you wouldn’t panic like I did yesterday while testing. Within the first 20 questions or so, I started getting SATA questions and then THEY WOULDN'T STOP! Exam stopped at 75, total SATA at the end was 36. I thought I would die.

Early this morning, my license has been issued. So somehow I survived it. I just wasn’t prepared to receive SO MANY, didn’t want others to let it scare them. Former instructor told me that meant I was at the “higher level” of questions.

You can do it! Don’t panic like I did!!

I'm so happy for you congratulations!!! I heard about the new nclex format and it was kinda freaking me out a little bit. I got awhile before I take it so don't have to worry too much. Again, congrats!!

How did you study if I may ask?

I did the NRsng Academy App with the unlimited full subscription for about 3 weeks. You can create a study plan there and once you complete enough practice questions it will identify your weak areas. Once you get those just focus on that areas lessons.

I also was very familiar with Saunders book and disk as well as Prioritization/ Delegation book. I was out of school for an extended period of time- due to an illness- before I could test so I really feel like these things helped me review and prepare.

Good Luck!

Awesome. Congrats and thank you. 36 is a lot lol. Did you have uworld as well or just the above mentioned?

When I took the exam in late August, I had 47 SATA questions (I tallied it on the white board they give us) and I was internally panicking all the way through. Luckily I passed as well and so did most of my nursing class. ? but it was nerve wrecking.

What did you use to study ?

Congrats on passing!!!! It was like that for me on the pn nclex as well... I just took mine over the weekend and found out i passed this morning! But i def had a lot of sata questions and it made me so nervous when i walked out of there. And for those that need study material wether it is for pn or Rn i def recommend uworld, some of my friends that are RN's recommended it to me and it helped so much! It def teaches you how answer questions and the rationales are amazing and detailed!

Congrats on passing! I have U-World and it has been very helpful. I take mine the 30th. Is the NCLEX more easier than HESI?
