New Mexico Licensure Question

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

btw once you passed the nclex exam, and you applied for NM, you won't need to take CGFNS right? but instead apply for visascreen right away to get a green card?

tnx

but according an email sent to me by ms. vidaurri in response to my fingerprint card inquiry it is otherwise. here's a part of that email:

......you can download the fingerprint cards off the board website now if you have not received your packet.

sabrina vidaurri clerk specialist, international exam - nclex-rn & pn new mexico board of nursing

in order to reconcile this email of ms.vidaurri vis-a-vis "original card, no copies", the statement maybe construde as referring to the fingerprints themselves (and not the cards) as real and not mere photocopied after being taken by a fingerprinting technician.

anyway, to those who are in manila or vicinity of manila (or visiting manila), maybe you could stop by the u.s. embassy at the un avenue because they do issue the cards for free. just bring the duly accomplished nm bon application and background check forms (plus proper ids) and ask the gate guards (quite nicely) that you will be going to forms window to ask for fingerprint cards . at that window, just state your business and show them your forms.viola!

and if you do go to the embassy, maybe you could just be more efficient by accomplishing the ces, cvs, etc beforehand and have the notary part of the forms accomplished at the notary section of the embassy while you're at it.

more power to us all....

the nm bon's webpage on forms now has an instruction/notice to use the downloadable fbi card.

i noticed though that the fbi card (in pdf) from the fbi website already has an ori mark for wv, have you or anyone here seen this too?

i hope someone can ask about this from nm bon and if it is acceptable to dps.

Guys, who do I contact with regards to the status of my tanscript evaluation? I emailed Ms. Vidaurri last month but I still havent heard from her. My school said they mailed my transcripts first week of September and I received an email from Ms. Simpson saying I'll have to check back with Sabrina, I tried calling Ms. Vidaurri but her voice mail is already full.

HI to all! Just want to share my processing with New Mexico.

May 29 - TOR sent to New Mexico via LBC (Paid P1000)

June 08- EMailed BON to ask if they received it.

June 13- BON replied and said that I can now register to Pearson and submit my application (Yup, I haven't submitted it,coz I wanted to make sure that my credentials were comparable to that of US)

June 18- I registered to pearson

June 20-sent my application thru my sister who's in US coz I couldn't get MO here.(I used my mom's credit card to pay for the application fee $160)

June 22- received my ATT thru email ( and I have only till Sep 20 to schedule)

if you have any questions feel free to post.

Hi,

I'd like to inquire about NM BON payments thru credit cards. I will also use my mom's credit card in my Licensure Exam Application. Is it correct that I just put only the Credit Card number and Expiration Date of my mom's credit card? Do I still need to attach an authorization letter from my mom?

For the payment of the fingerprint ($31) cards is there no way we can pay it thru the card also right?

Thanks!

if you're using your mom's credit card, she has to sign the payment form. no need for a letter.

for the DPS, credit cards are not accepted. you can use a dollar demand draft (bank draft). try pnb branches.

Have you tried paying the NM BON for the DPS using Bank Drafts? It indicated that only Cashier's Check drawn on US Banks and US Money Order are only accepted.

Thanks Again!!!

dollar demand draft is the equivalent of cashier's check in international transactions. the funds are guaranteed. local banks that issue these drafts have correspondent banks in the US such as pnb new york branch. but, if you prefer to search first for a cashier's check or money order from the philippines for this transaction, please inform us here when and where you can find one. it would be a big help.

you can also try US banks.

it was specified in section ii-b of the

requirements and instructions for nm licensure by examination that: personal checks/demand drafts/debit cards are not acceptable.

that's right. the question of whether one can use a bank draft (rather than a cashier's check) from the philippines is a common question here. if you read back all the pages here, you'll notice similar discussions on this. most applicants have used dollar demand draft either for dps or for the bon. most, if not all, state bons (such as CA, VT, NY, IL) and fingerprint service agencies such as IDENTIX (for IL) accept dollar demand draft from the philippines. some applicants asked their relatives in the US to pay in cashiers check or money order or personal checks if allowed. the important thing is that the payment is made in guaranteed US funds.

in local banks, try to ask the manager (not the clerks) in charge with demand drafts if you can use a cashier's check or money order to pay for this type of US transaction. try the commercial/universal banks such as pnb, bpi, metro, bdo, citibank. you can also search for US banks with branches in the phils.

should you find a local bank that will issue a cashier's check (or money order) for this type of US transaction, please inform us here of the bank's name and location (as well as the requirements) so it may help others.

I used BPI's bank draft :p

I asked the BPI manager if its a demand draft or not because demand drafts are not allowed, they cannot answer me haha. They just said its a bank or dollar draft. :p

When i asked BDO, the manager said DEMAND DRAFTS and BANK DRAFTS ARE THE SAME.

Anyway, I used BPI's bank draft and I have my eligibility now. So I guess you can use it.

i used bpi's bank draft :p

hi, bonsai. thanks for the info.

do you need to be a depositor of bpi or bdo to apply for a bank draft for this type of us transaction and did they ask you to pay them in dollars?

wat i know is pnb doesn't have that policy, but some branch managers are not aware of it.
