Hi Stephen! Maybe you can help me with a few questions I have???

I am currently a LPN student and I am graduating in about 16 weeks. I see you have extensive background in emergency/paramedic work and I was wondering if you have any advice regarding Paramedic vs. LPN?

Recently my grandmother who lived with me and whom I helped provide care passed. She had not signed a written a DNR yet (her death was somewhat unexpected) and the morning I found her I immediately zoned in and did cpr while i awaited for the Paramedics to show up. As difficult as it was, I payed close attention to the work they did after they took over and on the nursing side, became highly interested. I do intend on getting my RN eventually but I'm looking to do paramedic work in the meantime. From what I have heard it is a pay cut and kind of a step down but the idea of the adrenaline rush and having more responsibility than just administering meds along with a few other things highly interest me. I have found that in my clinical rotation (which I was in the ER for one day and it was my favorite) is somewhat boring. I want to do more hands on and gain more experience. Any advice regarding me taking a paramedic program before I do my RN? Also, do you know if nursing students are able to ride alongs??

Thank you so much!! Any advice/info will be helpful!!!
