Thank you for the encouragement!!! I am scheduled to take transition to RN on Monday. I want to get a number of these under my belt, before taking a job as LPN (and get that clinical experience!) Are you waiting to take your CPNE now? I see you post (very supportive) on this site!! thank you, K
you specifically prepare yourself for the cpne. lack of bad habits gained from experience actually is helpful. good luck with the program.
i have 2 years lpn experience and definitely gained "bad habits" by working ltc. but when i was at the cpne and during my preparations, i knew and told myself that only do things the ec way and i was successful without repeats. now that cpne is over, i'm back to "bad habits" again. but my assessment and management skills, and charting is of the rn level now because of the cpne.
op,
plenty of people have done it fresh from lpn school. you can do it too!!! we're here if you need support or if you have questions. good luck!
This board has so much encouragement and it is because of professional just like all of you.
I am looking to take the same route of either Resp Therapy to BSN through exclesior or my ASN to BSN through them, nursing will be a 2nd career for me and with today's craziness with the economy I figure I can go all the way through to achieve my BSN and work the field of nursing after on a fulltime basis, since I still have my 1st career path of (accounting) to fall back on
I am a new LPN graduate, and I just enrolled in excelsior. Anyone out there will little experience make it thru the CPNE? I know I can make it thru the content. I am just looking to see if anyone with little or no experience has done it, and any suggestions. OK, so I know the program is geared toward nurses/health field with experience... so I just would like to reach out for some advice, and hopefully gain some confidence and a put together a plan of action! Thanks in advance!
Me and a friend were fresh out of LPN school when we started. I started 2 months after graduating and she started 4 months after graduation. We both finished the whole program in 12 months. She actually finished in 9 months. It definetly can be done! I went to a workshop for the CPNE and did a few online courses to prepare me for the CPNE. I think being new will give you an advantage because you haven't learned bad habits. The content for the exams were also review. I now work three 12 hr shifts on a Neuroscrience floor and my friend works Med Surg. We both graduated Feb 2009. Good Luck!
