New LPN in excelsior program

Published

I am a new LPN graduate, and I just enrolled in excelsior. Anyone out there will little experience make it thru the CPNE? I know I can make it thru the content. I am just looking to see if anyone with little or no experience has done it, and any suggestions. OK, so I know the program is geared toward nurses/health field with experience... so I just would like to reach out for some advice, and hopefully gain some confidence and a put together a plan of action! Thanks in advance!

I just graduated in May and took LPN boards in July and just signed up with excelcior last week. I like it so far and I set a goal to be done on or before June 1st 2011. What is the CPNE? Is that where you go to the clinical site and check off on your skills?

Hi,

I am new to the board and new to excelsior. I want to finish in a year or less time and I am very dedicated. I found alot of ebay notes that seem to be very helpful to prep for the test. am scheduled to take transition to RN in January. does anyone have any good advice for this exam? also should I even waste my time using the nursing notes found on ebay

abuice, I have two tests completed and Computer literacy. I have just pretty much follow the study guides, then take the practice exams. Lots of advice on here on extra study material! good luck

I did not know you had to do computer literacy? What classes did you take. Were they difficult? Did you use any of the cd's available on ebay to help with your exams? This is exciting that i found this site. I know no one who has graduated from excelsior

Specializes in Med Surg.

i've seen a few gripe boards where people have failed the cpne three times - the max allowed. almost every one had a line that went "i've been a lpn for over 20 years and i know what i'm doing and there is no way i should have failed and the whole thing is a scam and i'm going to start a class action suit and wah, wah, wah". so, experience is no predictor of sucess, in fact, experience combined with arrogance is probably the kiss of death. going in with a fresh point of view is probably an advantage.

i will be trying to get started once all my transcripts finally make their way to excelsior and i get my unofficial review.
